Journal: No it's not reference from dark history but still fitting. Deside from it, it is based off of mixed to influence that has inspired this sketch to now artwork is east europe meme and something like this youtubers as example (https://www.youtube.com/@LifeofBoris/videos). Is it the war that made me hop into this meme wagon, no but at the time i was interested with geographic, different culture and ethnicity years ago hence in my oldest artwork you see east Asian, British, indigenous Sámi and native Americans. Yes i did cringy things with it and regret about it, i'm sorry about the minor and petty misdeeds. By the way this is all made for fun.
Why russian? Originally going to be Gopnik meme but there's a issue that gopniks is hooligan sub culture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES8fFBL8mVY. So i changed into Russian in traditional outfit but there's another issue conspiracy, so i add info in disclaimer. I do care about Russian civilians and do feel bad for them of that they been through the oppresive and cultish hell in their homeland. So why not a love letter with a western meme.
Why traditional oufit? No, it's not conservative but instead it's Russian ethnic uniform of their culture. Other thinks they would rather slap elvis outfit, glamrock outfit, strip club outfit or drunken party animal outfit but i prefer to use ethnic traditional outfit as cultural representation as love letter.
Why red panda? Just wanted to featured obscure and recognisable species that i haven't draw often. No, it not about the soviet stuff, let's put this past behind. Just remember red is not evil but just poppies, those from war memorial poppies. When you see red in Russia, just treated as poppies for those suffered in russian hell through out ever since instead of evil and this would piss off z putinist.
