HAPPY 3 YEARS ANNIVERSARY!!!
Hi everypony!!! My blog turn 3 years old today, so I decided to redesign the redesign of Sunset shimmer I drew 2 years ago.
Her story did change in my AU-now finally named Prismverse. More down below and followers you can support me on my Devianart!
Name: Sunset Shimmer
Sex: Female Sibling(s): Spitfire Spouse: Trixie Offspring(s): Zephyro Blaze, Brilliant Morning Star, Meridial Abyss, Roselux Enchantia, Sonnet Dusk, Middy Pop (adopt).
Personality: Sunset Shimmer was once arrogant, ambitious, and emotionally distant. Growing up isolated from her family due to her unexpected unicorn birth and exceptional magical talent, she developed a strong need to prove her worth through achievement. Constant praise and success gradually gave her a superiority complex, making her believe her abilities justified ignoring rules and authority. Beneath her composed exterior, Sunset was deeply sensitive to rejection and abandonment, especially regarding Princess Celestia, whose growing distance eventually fueled her bitterness and obsession with forbidden magic. But now as an grown mare, Sunset has become calmer, quieter, and more emotionally mature, though still prideful and highly independent. Years of exile and failure humbled her, teaching her the emotional cost of isolation and blind ambition. She remains composed, determined, and intimidating when necessary, but is now far more self-aware and careful with her actions. While emotionally reserved, she cares deeply for those close to her and slowly learned how to reconnect with others through companionship, especially with Trixie-her mate.
Backstory: Sunset Shimmer was once an arrogant yet deeply cautious young mare. Born unexpectedly as a unicorn into a non-unicorn household, she grew up emotionally distant from her parents, who struggled to understand her and often kept their distance. Her extraordinary magical talent isolated her further from those around her, while also nurturing a growing sense of pride and ambition from an early age.
Tensions within her family, especially with her sister Spitfire, worsened over time. Their relationship became strained by pride, resentment, competitiveness, and perceived favoritism, eventually escalating into a serious argument that drove Sunset to leave home permanently. Refusing to remain in an environment where she felt misunderstood and emotionally disconnected, she abandoned her old life in pursuit of independence and greater ambitions.
Not long afterward, Sunset’s exceptional magical abilities attracted the attention of Princess Celestia, who later invited her to study under her guidance. To Sunset, this opportunity felt like undeniable proof that leaving home had been the right choice. For the first time in her life, she felt truly seen and valued. She devoted herself entirely to her studies, constantly striving to impress Celestia and live up to the expectations placed upon her.
As Celestia’s student, Sunset quickly gained recognition for her intelligence, discipline, and overwhelming magical talent. However, as time passed and Celestia became increasingly burdened by royal responsibilities, their relationship gradually grew more distant. Feeling neglected and emotionally abandoned, Sunset became bitter and isolated. Around the same period, her academic performance began to decline, while constant pressure to socialize and form connections with other students only deepened her frustration.
Believing that institutions and traditional magical ethics unnecessarily limited progress, Sunset secretly began researching ancient magic, forbidden rituals, and dangerous relics. Although fully aware of their potentially devastating consequences, she continued her studies regardless, convinced that the pursuit of greater knowledge justified the risks. Over time, her growing obsession with magical advancement and her faith in her own judgment pushed her further beyond acceptable boundaries.
Everything collapsed when Celestia eventually discovered the truth. Horrified by Sunset’s reckless experimentation and betrayal of trust, Celestia confronted her directly. Consumed by pride, anger, and humiliation, Sunset lashed out and attacked her mentor during the confrontation.
As punishment for both her dangerous actions and her assault against the Princess, Sunset was stripped of her titles, privileges, academic standing, and reputation before being formally banished.
After spending years wandering aimlessly, Sunset Shimmer eventually encountered two fateful companions—Trixie, a prideful and loud street magician, and Wallflower Blush, a gentle yet emotionally distant gardener. Through their companionship, Sunset slowly found the courage to confront the darker parts of herself and eventually realized a painful truth: “Magic means nothing if you have nopony to share it with.”
During her years of exile, Sunset repeatedly sought redemption across different courts and communities throughout Equestria, sincerely trying to atone for her past mistakes. Although her original punishment was severe, Princess Celestia quietly continued observing her former student from afar and gradually recognized the genuine effort Sunset was making to change. Because of this, Sunset’s expulsion was eventually shortened and officially ended shortly before her return.
Even after her punishment had been lifted, Sunset hesitated to return to Canterlot out of guilt, shame, and fear of facing her past again. However, she ultimately gathered the courage to apologize to Princess Celestia in person. To Sunset’s surprise, Celestia held no resentment toward her despite everything that had happened.
Now far more emotionally mature and self-aware, Sunset strives to move forward from her past mistakes and dedicate herself to helping Equestria however she can.
*Edit: I don’t know why her eyes are black in the final art but she not possessed by devil or sth!
The 3 Laws before Linsey, Starton and NYX.
I’ve made little drawings and bios of my three main OCs! Here they are! Also, for context, here’s the brief lore of my universe. Also also, Smalbox and Bucket, do not leave!
It takes place in the modern day in an alternate reality where everyone has been born with special abilities for the past several generations. The story takes place in the US, specifically in a fictional city in Indiana that is the capital of the US instead of Washington DC. Due to the prevalence of abilities, the crime rate has been rising significantly, and just like real life, the police are corrupt and incompetent. Due to this, there has been a large rise to prominence of detectives, and both agencies and private detectives are common. A few years before the story starts, an organization named Prism was founded. The organization’s primary focus is justice, and they are most well known for their Investigative Department, made up of talented detectives, though they do have other departments as well.
Also, yes, all of these three are agender, aroace, and autistic because I am, and I love projecting onto my characters.
Tadashi Ishikawa
22
Agender (But has never thought about his own gender identity so doesn’t realize it)
Aroace
Autistic
A detective who is fixated on mysteries above all else. His parents neglected him as a child to focus on their work, and as a result, he had to entertain himself. After discovering mystery novels, nothing else ever held his interest, and he wanted to become a detective when he grew. After solving a high profile case in his senior year of high school, his investigative prowess became well known. After working for a private detective agency, he eventually join Prism’s Investigative Department. While Prism gave him a wealth of cases to solve, he still wanted more mysteries. After exhausting every piece of mystery media he could find, he ultimately decided to use his last resort. That last resort was paying an assassin organization to kill someone and create a mystery for him to solve. Using his shapeshifting ability, he also infiltrated the organization in order to investigate them and take them down.
Tadashi is usually a quiet person, except when either he’s talking about mysteries, or when he needs to be more talkative in order to get info for his investigations. He’s usually quite blunt when speaking to others, giving him a reputation as one of the more intimidating members of the Investigative Department. He does have a sense of justice, but he is willing to push it aside in order to have more mysteries to solve. However, the immoral actions he takes in this pursuit do give him some guilt. Due to not having friends in his childhood, he has a limited understanding of friendship, and doesn’t believe that he had friends, even though his coworkers in Prism and others consider him their friend.
Onyx
22
Agender
Aroace
Autistic (But does not realize it)
Onyx grew up as a social outcast due to being considered “weird” and having niche interests. Wanting to have friends, they hid their real interests and personality in order to be accepted by others. However, their classmates could tell that Onyx didn’t actually care about what was popular and ostracized them. They always enjoyed mysteries, so when they grew up, they tried to be a private detective. However, they felt that they weren’t very successful, so they gave up on that and tried being an author. However, after their debut novel didn’t sell very well, Onyx didn’t know what to do with their life. Eventually, they realized that they could do something with the fact that they’re good with disguises. After hearing about a local assassin organization, he decided to infiltrate it to investigate it and take it down.
Onyx’s true personality is someone who is very anxious and insecure. They tend to talk quite quickly and ramble. They look up to Prism and Tadashi, and hope to prove themself so that they could maybe join Prism. Onyx is very good at pretending to be confident when he is not. When pretending to be an assassin, he tries to act cooler and rougher than usual. He also acts more stereotypically masculine, and doesn’t mind if people assume they’re a guy. Their ability is Connect the Dots, where they’re able to pick two things and receive a color representing how connected they are. Due to not having any friends as a kid, they begin to see the other members of the assassin organization as their friends, since they’re the first people to be nice to him.
Adair Graves
22
Agender
Aroace
Autistic
Adair was considered strange when they were younger for how earnest they were about their interests. They had no friends until they became close with their cousin, Arin. Arin wanted to grow up to become a detective, and Adair was inspired by him. They wanted to be a detective as was, and had Arin start training them as the two got older. While in high school, Adair met another friend, Isaac, while doing Science Olympiad. Adair became very close to him as well, and learned a bit about inventing from him. Things took a turn for Adair when their cousin went missing and was alleged to have killed someone. Adair, not believing that Arin was guilty, wanted to look for him. However, they also wanted to try being a detective on their own so that they could make Arin proud when he came back. They began working as an amateur detective, taking cases that were considered too small-time for Prism.
Adair is very eager to prove themself, and is friendly to almost everyone they meet. However, they have some anxieties about not being as good of a detective as their cousin, and often try to rely on what Arin taught them. They can be oblivious socially, and tend to announce themself as an amateur detective to people they definitely shouldn’t. However, they are perceptive when it comes to finding evidence, which makes them a good detective. Their ability is to have a small pocket dimension that they can access at any time that they can use to store items.
I’ll probably draw Arin, Isaac, and the other members of Prism’s Investigative Department sometime soon, as well as give them bios.
Took a skillshare class by Gabriel Picolo about figure drawing and used it as an excuse to draw Prism again! Think it turned out pretty good 👌
In your honest opinion why do you think people should watch/audition for Prismverse
because i think it’s going to be a great series. i think it’s got an incredible and riveting story. i think that the cast who havealready been selected are all wonderful, talented people. and i think that it’s got incredible elements of diversity that are not as prevalent in many web series as they could be or should be. i think anyone who auditions and gets the part will have an opportunity to join a cast who, among with all of the positive words i’ve already used, are also caring and basically are a family. i think anyone who watches will be entertained and enthralled.
