Prisons for profit mean only one thing: a greater incentive to lock up more people and keep them locked up for as long as possible to maximize profits.

Greed is the engine that drives an idea like a privatized prison that should be non-proft and paid for by our tax dollars. Like The Post Office.

Our tax dollars should pay for these services instead of subsidizing oil and pharmaceutical companies and defense contractors.

Prisons for profit has to be one of the most detestable incarnations of capitalism to have ever manifested.

It encourages and facilitates slavery — that's right I said slavery — and a twisted form of human trafficking. The more people are locked up, the greater the profits. The longer people are locked up the greater the bucks for the bottom line.

Souls for dollars —it's as horrible as it sounds.

Prisons should work hard to educate and rehabilitate people so that when they have served their sentence they might have a shot at turning their life around.

To living a happy life and having a shot at being a positive part of society leaving criminality behind.

That is THE LAST THING A PRISON FOR PROFIT HOPES FOR. THERE IS NO PROFIT IN THAT.

If unfettered capitalism has proved anything to us — it is that it is carnivorous. Meaning human life is only of value when it can be consumed to make money.

"Lock 'em up and keep 'em locked up" that is the only thing that makes prisons for profit profitable.
