Hi @calpurniiaa, both have been updated since 2024 so first step would be making sure you have the most recent versions for the mods installed and then letting me know if the issue still persists. In general, a good rule of thumb for troubleshooting is to always make sure you're working off the latest version by checking the links in the Downloads page (the posts may be old but the link is always to the latest version of everything and you will see the date it was uploaded to confirm whether you have the latest version). But yeah, let me know if you're still having the load issue after updating.

Thank you @simsbyjulia, translations are always welcome! The lovely @ynidy has actually just sent me Brazilian Portuguese translations for the main Private Clinic mod, the Psychiatry module, Student Council and Drama club mods. I just haven't uploaded them yet. But the Optometry mod is still up for grabs plus any of my other mods that you have. Very few have Brazilian PT translations (I think just Snowflake Tree, some of the Kids & Toddler ones and the ones I now mentioned above). I only ask that translators just send me the STBL file so I can easily drag and drop it into the mod file.

So glad you're enjoying it, @maleabug it's one of my favorites! I've never played in a world that doesn't have at least one doctor so this never really occurred to me but it makes sense. For now, you can just delete any eye disease buffs if you have NRAAS MasterController and that will remove any of the symptoms as well. For an astigmatism, deleting the buff won't remove their astigmatism but you can order contact lenses online which will at least remove the negative impact and doesn't require a prescription or seeing a doctor. But it makes sense in the next version to check for a licensed doctor in town before seeding or giving any astigmatisms or diseases, this would include the enhanced pregnancy features of the obgyn module as well.

Hi @soledadinthesims! I've gotten this question a few times and honestly I'm surprised so many people are interested in dentistry as a job. I guess I fail to see how it would be that fun. I suppose you could say the same about Optometry but I wear glasses in real life so it's just something I've always wanted in the game. Maybe if I'd had braces, I would care more. 😭 But I've said in the past that my goal would be to get the Private Clinic core mod to a stable place so that other people could create their own medical modules as well so if someone else wanted to make a Dentistry mod or Dermatology mod or Surgery mod, they could and it would all work using the same clinic system. This seems to be a popular idea so I'm sure someone will jump on it!

For anyone having an issue with missing strings in the Private Clinic. Are you playing in a non-english language? I installed the files and the stbl keys are correct and the text shows up in my game so I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

Hi! I love your mods! I recently started trying to play with the private clinic mod, but whenever I purchase medicines from the store, I click on them in my inventory, and it has 4 options, NRAAS, give gift, blank, and blank with blue circle next to it. Did I do something wrong with the installation?

lol, no, it's not you it's me (hi, I'm the problem it's me). I changed the localization keys when I updated the mod and forgot to change it in the stbl file. A few people reported this as well already and I forgot about it so thanks for reminding me. I'll update it this weekend.

Hey Olomaya! I was just curious if there would be any plans to allow the EA lounge chairs to be used with the psychiatry mod, so our Sims can actually recline like they would do on a psychiatrist's couch? I think that would be a neat little detail that would make the clinic look even cooler! Also, is it at all possible in the future to have one big pseudo-hospital on a big lot with different sections for different modules? Or would each module need a separate lot/building to work properly?

Hello! I had thought about it at the beginning when first developing the mod but that wouldn't allow for couples/relationship counseling and it's kind of an outdated concept irl. It's not really something I'm interested in going back to doing as I consider that mod pretty much finished minus whatever updates it requires for the main PC module. But if you want psychiatry gameplay with that feature, I highly recommend Two Point Hospital, one of my favorite games and the general inspiration for the Private Clinic mod.

As to your second question, you can already do this. Unless you're asking about something else, not sure I fully understand.

Ok, can you detail your issue here? If you don't have a script error report then just provide as much detail as you can (when exactly the reset happens, who is your doc, who is the prescription for, etc).

Private Clinic - Optometry (+ updates)

So this is the optometry portion of my Private Clinic mod (eventual series). I had hoped to get this out much earlier but just lost interest/motivation but I managed to eke through with hours of 2024 to spare. 😅 Procrastination and I are long-time friends so I'm pretty proud of myself -- the old me would have just dumped this project and moved on to some new shiny. That's not to say that I didn't but at least this time I came back to it!

What this does:

Adds the ability for licensed doctors (see private clinic for details) to run an optometry clinic and treat patients.

Creates astigmatism and a couple of other eye diseases for Sims

Adds update to the clinic system allowing you to set office hours as a doctor, or make appointments as patients, track billing, income and expenses, among other new features

A few updates to the Private Clinic Psychiatry module such as more buffs added that can be treated and being able to use the main controller's payment system.

There is A LOT of information so please read through the documentation (there's two, a new one for the PC core features and one just for optometry) before using and bug reporting. This is a scheduled post (I'm currently under a table somewhere eating grapes) so please don't DM me with any bug reports. Instead, please log it here. If you see the same issue you're experiencing already logged, then just add your name or number to the "I have it too" column.

Private Clinic main files - Please sort the files list by date so you can see the 5 files which have been updated/added for you to download. You NEED the MAIN file, MaladyManager and prescription objects to run any of the modules. The rest depends on which features you want.

I love this psychiatry mod so much, thank you for making this! (I'm looking forward to the other modules as well). Of course, I have questions - will this cure Midlife Crisis like the hospital rabbithole? Is there any chance to set an inactive/role sim as the psych and get my active family cured of their problems? Thanks for all your work!

Hi and thanks! I know that having a midlife crisis is one of the things the mod will look out for in patients but I don't think it cures it (would have to check) but that's probably a good idea to do after a couple of sessions. Noted for the next update!

As for inactive therapists, yes, you can have a session with an inactive Sim therapist so long as they are assigned to the couch and are on the lot. In the next Private Clinic update, you'll be able to set up appointments which will push inactive doctors to the clinic lot to treat you at whatever time you set up your doctor's appointment. However, only sims in playable households can be doctors so no role sims or NPCs.
