The time has come to say goodbye to the Summer Reading & Writing Program for this year. Fret not! The program (with all of the challenge-y fun) will be back next year! And, if you check out the end of this post, you’ll only have to wait a couple of weeks if you’re interested in some challenges of a different nature. :)
Now that we’ve finished the final round, I tallied and calculated and ciphered to find that y’all have committed 170 acts of literacy! You are so awesome!
This Book Dragon is pretty darn excited that y’all have hatched 170 baby Book Dragons!
And now it’s time to announce the two winners of the final round!
Continuing with our very official system, the dragons had me put little pieces of paper for each egg hatched into a treasure box. The dragons, still lacking in the area of fine motor skills, thought it would be best if one of us humans pulled a name from the box this time. :)
And the winners for the Final Round are….

I’ll be doing an Autumn Go Play Program that will be set up very similarly to the Reading Program…except it’s less about reading and more about playing and having fun. :D Check back next Wednesday for more information!

***There will actually be two winners for the final round! (Having been a winner in a previous round does not exclude you from being one of the final round winners…so keep reading, all of you!) :)

Woohoo! It’s the official start to the Summer Reading & Writing Program, and the Book Dragons and friends are ready to guide us through a season of literary goodness. :D
I am very excited to tell you that, even though sign ups aren’t even close to being closed yet, we already have a bigger crowd than last year! :D
If all has gone according to plan, I (with Grace’s help) have streamlined the whole process this year…it should be super-simple for everyone involved! Let me show you some of the awesome goodness of this year’s program:
***If you haven’t signed up yet, that’s STEP 1 for you! (It’s quick and painless, I promise!)
***This year’s tracking sheet is available for you to download/print! There are spaces for tracking 24 challenges of your choosing…if you complete more than 24 challenges, feel free to grab a second sheet. It looks like this (but bigger):

***To report back about completing a challenge this year is a smooth, happy process (I hope). Each time you hatch a baby dragon by completing a challenge, you earn a gold coin (not a real one, of course…I’m not insane). Gold coins earn you entries into each of the 5 prize drawings throughout the program. The more gold coins you’ve earned, the better your chances! (You can read a bit more about that on the official Summer Reading & Writing Program Page. I’ll be adding a button on the sidebar for easy access to the Reading Program Page.)
***Speaking of prizes, what will the fabulous prize be for the Round 1 winner??? The winner (announced on June 24, 2015) will actually receive two prizes for this round: their choice of gift card from Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Amazon, or Starbucks (in the amount of $10) and a super-fun dragon to put together/play with:
***Annnnnd, the first 5 people who signed up for the program will be receiving a fabulous dragon sticker designed by our ever-spiffy fellow blogger, Goldfish at Fish of Gold.
