Welcome To Night Vale Patches!
got that bad case of the May 31st scaries :(
happy first day of summer reading program 🥳📚🦕🦴🎉
Do the summer reading program guys!! They have game boards for teens and kids and it has a list of cool activities to do too!
And at the library people really don't care what you're checking out, they just guess it's for someone you're picking stuff up for!
Once a library kid always a library kid
Children's room window display for June! Since this year's Summer Reading Program theme is "Color Our World" I used that as an excuse to lean into the rainbow motif with this one as well, framing it as a way to "create a sense of cohesion between the displays." Works subtly enough as a pride display as well, for any LGBTQIA+ / questioning kids that come in the room.
Signed up for the Summer Reading Program and they're just using the standard paper for everyone so I had to put down 'participants name and age' and then my 'guardian' (myself) lmao
But the girl at the desk was very friendly, she liked my shirt AND my glasses (it's a torrid tank with popsicles and some of them are very gay coded so it might be a pride shirt 🤷♀️)
But she gave me my little booklet to keep track of my books. We're supposed to read 30 minutes a day, and each 10 minutes earns us a raffle ticket. I do not know what the prizes are. Kid prizes are pool tickets and movie tickets, idk if it's the same for adults bc I would love movie tickets 👀
AND THEN for an extra raffle entry we got a little index card and we're supposed to make a little title card? For our favorite book, and the librarians will vote on their favorite, and then they're going to hang them all up at the end of July/August (the log only has June/July).
