it was unusual, not really, that amelia had invited hyejung over just to hang out. hyejung usually rejected her invites, so it was her fault that they never spent time time together (like most people.) a sigh slips out, slinging her backpack strap over her shoulder before doing the same to the other, fishing her phone out to text the elder. a school day, but it was friday, so hyejung approved. it may have seemed a bit rude to say yes only because it was the latest hangout date and she didn’t want to spend so much time interacting with others, but she wasn’t going to apologize for it. hyejung already accepted the date anyways, correct?
(sms) coming.
(sms) leave the door open.
what lay for hyejung was a mystery, it was something that sort of shook the girl in a way where she froze, unable to say or do anything to make ends meet. her backpack drops on the wooden floor that was covered in several things that ranged from ripped up pieces from papers torn out from catalogs to porcelain objects that had been broken as if they were thrown across the room. her mouth agape when she sees the older girl in the corner, shaking, arms wrapped around her knees while she rocked. the younger wasn’t usually stuck in situations like these unless they dealt with her but it was different. hyejung didn’t know what comfort was, nor did she know if her comfort would be good enough for her to calm down.
crouching down for their eyes to meet, she blinks softly. fingers pressing lightly against the floor while the other hand rubbed awkwardly at the nape of her neck. lips part to say something, but purse into a tight line once her train of thought is lost. “shit.. are you..” stop, of course she wasn’t okay. don’t ask the obvious. “what’s.. what’s wrong..?” tilting her head with a few loose strands that brush over her visage, she huffs, unable to read the girl’s emotions on her face. “what happened?”
