     “   OH  YEAH ,   abso-lutely  ,   me  tooooo ….  ”   she  laughs  and  tosses  a  hand  ( has  it  always  been  this  heavy ? ) ,  but  her  heart  is  pounding  in  her  ears  and  she  wonders  if  it’s  the  alcohol  making  the  room  spin  or  if  it’s  him .   this  game  is  so  AWKWARD ,   but  at  least  her  partner  has  a  sense  of  humour . 

     “  FIVE  MINUTES !! ”   she  hears  jess  yell  from  the  next  room .   she  also  hears  beth  giggle  and  suddenly  wants  to  take  the  javelin  trophy  from  emily’s  bedside  table  and  stab  herself  with  it . 

            “  you ,  um  – ––– damn !  what  the  hell  was  i –––  ”   she  frowns  at  her  hands ,  inebriation  taking  over  her  cognition .  she  likes  him  tenfold  when  her  brain  is  cloudy .   alcohol  does  that  to  her .  heightens  feelings  she’d  rather  go  left  untouched .  this  was  JOSH ,  hannah’s  big  brother ,  she  tells  herself .  eyes  flicker  up  to  the  pair  next  to  her  with  a  smile  attached  to  the  gaze .  it’s  a  pink -  cheeked  declaration  of  fondness ,  and  it’s  as  much  as  she  can  muster .    “  this  is  dumb ,  i  just  wanna  sleeeep . ”  she  sighs ,  throwing  herself  backwards  onto  the  mattress .   MISTAKE .  the  room  is  cartwheeling  now.    she  GROANS .  this  is  why  she  doesn’t  drink .   but  unicorn  gin  is  TASTY …   

       “  oh  my  gosh .  josh .   what  if  unicorn  gin  is  MADE  of  unicorns ?? ”   the  horror  on  her  face  is  unfathomable .

Blame Josh for this one - it’s a fucking RAGER, and the place is all but torn to pieces. Can she breathe, will she, as she comes up with a shard of sobriety, looking about the room she’s in and the mess of people within it; they’re strangers, they’re friends, they’re everything in between, but what she knows is that she can’t stay here, not now, not like this. Paranoia kicks in, and she tries to think what she had last, what’s she tripping off of, the drum of her heartbeat going BANG BANG BANG against the inside of her ribs, the cage it forms suddenly squeezing in tighter--

-- no no no, she can’t take this, she reaches out and finds a hand that feels familiar, Josh, she looks at him with her pupils dilated to hell and her voice is soft when she asks, “Can you walk me home?” in a voice that tells him she’s TRIPPIN’ OUT. And Josh, despite the way he loves to joke and fuck around with people, he’s not that much of a dick when it comes to his friends, not when they need him the way that she needs him right now, with an unsteady hand placed over his own, the two of them trying to navigate over those off on their own vibe, almost gasping when they hit that wall of fresh air as the doors open, and they’re set free.

But he’s gone too, isn’t he, Toni missed that look on him as they’re walking, as she’s seeing stars, and not only in the physical, arm looped about his own, they’re on a fucking ADVENTURE now, bitches. Each breath feels laboured, or is she suddenly hot? It’s hard to tell, but the feeling’s mutual, it seems, a glance shared between them and she suddenly can’t look away. It’s telling, like a car crash that you’re watching in slow motion, she knows, she knows, she knows he’s coming in for it, that kiss, as he pushes her back against someone’s house that they don’t know, the nearness of him, the smell of beer on his breath as he kisses her with a suddenness that ought to have her punching him out, but instead she’s pulling him in, in, in, like this isn’t a deceitful swipe at the years they’ve spent being friends, even if it’s like a shot at being happy, even if, it might be something great.

    This could really go either way. Wendily will throw the blame for the incident on Josh, seeing as he was the one to invite everyone back to the mountain ( never mind his revenge prank ) meaning that she blames Josh for her infection and the deaths of everyone else- we can plot that others survived, of course, but with UD muses I default that the one she’s interacting with was the only surviver with her. True, it’s a little unfair- he never planned for Jess to be kidnapped, or for Matt to end up in the mines, but that’s just how Wendily works. If she has a place to scapegoat her feelings onto, she will do so freely. 

    At the same time, Josh went through something similar to her- being attacked by a wendigo and experiencing the terror trap of the mines. I don’t know what your take on post-game Josh is so I can’t really go too far into this. If he’s like her and has gone through some wendification himself, then Wendily will be both eager and afraid to initiate contact with him. Like, torn between “I have to know more about what’s happening” and “What if I find out something bad?” Of course, Josh would have gone through the traditional method of possession as opposed to infection, so there’s a lot of lorebuilding that could be looked into by seeing any differences! 

    As for romance... ???? I don’t know, honestly. Anything’s possible, lmao. God, her rebounding on Josh... what a disaster. 

    ( also I have no idea what’s happening in that pic either. I just stitched together the best scenes I had of them, since there’s basically no interaction between the two in canon :’) it’s a crime! )
