I really don't like the Hellaverse hatedom. They complain about EVERYTHING. The worse part it feels like either you're with them or against them. Because I'm going to be real, I don't like Verosika or Charlie (as of season 2). But if I try looking for videos where other people don't like them (right now it's Charlie), it's a cesspool of hating everything.

Plus I have mixed feelings on Oktavia. And I'll admit I dipped my feet in the hate during the 'Apology Tour' part regarding Stolas. But I got right back out after Mastermind (still don't like Apology Tour for how it treats Blitz but I forgave Stolas for what he did). So my opinions on the show don't even match up with their opinions anymore.

It’s almost like characters raised in an environment filled with racism and bigoted things will turn out to have that ingrained in them and o need to work on that

It’s also almost like characters who are systematically abused and forced to mature too quickly and feel horrible all the time don’t have the energy or time to work on their issues

It’s almost like characters who are ALSO abused and go through the trauma of losing their family way too early with no support, and have deep rooted self hatred that will take a LONG time to root out and deal with aren’t the characters to help other characters deal with their ingrained racism on top of abuse and early maturity(imagine yourself having a kid at 18. Stolas did. He was abused during this time.)

Yes they both have issues, yes they both have trauma, yes Stolas was/is abused/being abused by Stella

Okay, let me just preemptively discuss Blitz being an assassin, as that seems to be on of the biggest reasons people put him at the more villainous hero at best, and full on villain at worst

With all the anti stolas shit that’s been popping up on my dash recently(fuck you, algorithm, I love my gay owl boi)I’ve been noticing a pattern. Anti stolas criticizes stolas and calls it that, refusing to acknowledge his good parts. Meanwhile, pro stolas responds with overwhelming positivity, which, like, yeah I love him, but there’s no acknowledgement of his flaws and mistakes. That’s what I’m here for! No one invited me and I broke through the wall(sorry blitz)but I’m here!

Stolas is SUCH. A. FUCKING. DICK! In the beginning at least. He refuses to respect blitz’s boundaries and disrespects imps in general(before you say “it’s only blitz! Bc it’s a form of flirting!” First of all no it’s not flirting or some bs, and if that’s how he means it, he needs to work on that. Second of all, he calls Millie and moxxie “littler ones” and refuses to respect the family Blitz worked to find, despite the fact Blitz treats them like shit a lot of the time, especially moxx, but thats beside the point).

another thing to consider, though, is that it’s not one person fucking up. The blame can’t be shifted onto the shoulders of Stolas OR blitz. Blitz treats him as if he doesn’t care, doesn’t acknowledge his professed feelings as anything else but a joke, essentially disrespecting Stolas’s emotions like Stella likely did and does. He’s ingrained to think of stolas as never caring for him, but that doesn’t mean stolas deserved it. He hurts and hurts because he gives a shit. Blitz needs to work on emotions shit, because the way he expresses them is hurtful to others and he doesn’t communicate or express care in a way that makes it clear to the other he does.

So yeah. They both need to work on shit before they’re healthy.

But I digress, it got a bit off topic, my original point was that yeah. Stolas is a fucking dick. But that doesn’t mean he’ll be a fucking dick for the whole of his life.

So can the divide close a little bit? I get it if stolas is irredeemable for you. I’m not saying you have to love him, or even like him. But let’s acknowledge the positives and flaws of a character. I didn’t get into positives, because those aren’t hard to find if you look a little. But negatives never get fully into why they exist, or how they can be worked on. So yeah. Hope you liked my fucking ramble.
