Duncan is such a good character and I wished people realized why
I’m working on a longer post about this but I want to say this now
Duncan is such a good character, he is basically a realistic response to a guy living in a world that expects guys and girls to be sometimes tough and manly and constantly makes fun of them If they quote on quote failed or are weak aka being human
People forget that just like in the real world the consequences for not being manly in total drama suck
you get made off and you are constantly disrespected and underestimated
so when Duncan gets found out or made fun of for being nice or sweet he doesn’t learn to be himself but nicer (I’ll explain that part on my next post ) he hides it
he hides how much he cares
Because yeah those moments of Duncan being a jerk sometimes he is a jerk but most of the stuff it’s an act
because just like in the real world , just like with real boys or men Duncan knows there are consequences , actual consequences if he acts like himself
Duncan knows that if he acts soft he would either get taken advantage of or get made fun of
and the sad thing is he was kinda right
