I’m not going to deny the demonization Edelgard gets, BUT IN WHAT UNIVERSE DOES THE FANDOM UPHOLD RHEA AS “THE PERFECT WAIFU HONEYBUNCH”????????? This feels like gaslighting; all those times I’ve seen untagged Rhea hate and demonization, people treating non-canon stuff about her as canon like that she “experimented on children,” “kept Cyril as a slave/refused to teach him to read,” or “killed Sitri” and getting thousands of reblogs/retweets with little-to-no correction, those many, many, many fanmade Golden Paths where Rhea at best is the ONLY one who doesn’t get a happy ending and at worst is the TRUE villain of the entire game and final boss who must be destroyed for the good of all Fodlan to finally achieve a happy ending and can unite the House Leaders in their shared hatred of her (TWSITD who???), claims that she shouldn’t have been an ally on any routes, that she’s just as evil as (if not more than) Thales/TWSITD, her trauma or being a genocide survivor getting trivialized to “mommy issues” or “missing her mom”…I WISH I could live in that universe where Rhea is as beloved as the screenshot claims but that is objectively not the case in reality.
