A Magical Accident
Caligo glanced between his phone and where Krigar sat with Yuli. The three of them had agreed to help River deliver some artifacts to some other demon, and apparently one had somehow affected Yuli. Things had been going smoothly enough, all of them packing a few objects into boxes and moving them down to a van out back. Then, Caligo and Krigar had gotten back from carrying a box downstairs and found Yuli searching the room, looking fairly lost. A few questions later and they determined he didn’t seem to remember what had happened. Not only that, but he didn’t remember who they were, who he was, or seemingly anything else.
Now, Krigar was trying to keep him calm and going over basic information about his life, while Caligo sent out a text to River. That part was easy enough, just letting him know something had gone wrong, sending a picture of the object, and asking if he knew how long it lasted or what to do about it. He still hadn’t heard back, and now he was trying to figure out how to tell Alek.

Alek glanced down at his phone when he heard the alert for a text, expecting it to be a message from Yuli saying when he’d be home. Seeing that it was instead from Caligo surprised him, and he grabbed the phone and started reading the message.
Hey, had a bit of a magical accident. Nobody’s hurt, but Yuli seems to have amnesia. I texted River and I’ll let you know as soon as I hear how to fix it, but you might want to come over.
While similar things had happened before, Alek still felt a burst of fear. He was sure they’d figure out some way to fix it, or it would go away on its own soon, hopefully, but that didn’t change that it was not going to be fun to deal with in the meantime, especially not knowing for sure how long it would last.
Thankful that Briar was still at school for a couple hours, Alek sent out a quick text saying he was on the way, then got up from the couch, grabbed his keys, and left.
