I forgot to mention, I also think Peter was playing off and worsening Remus and Sirius’s distrust of each other. Like, after a battle, Peter comes up to Remus and acts all concerned as he says “Have you noticed the way Sirius has been behaving when we fight the Death Eaters lately? I swear he wasn’t always so ruthless in fights. I’m worried about him, Moony.” After Remus lies yet again about where’s been (after an Order mission), Peter comes up to Sirius and acts all hurt as he wonders why Remus is lying to them, they’re all on the same side, aren’t they?
And I'm sure he was ordered to do that, because it's not like he was smart enough to come up with that on his own 😂
