Proboscis Monkey
@fruitsoftheape100
You've been a very good boy this year Elmer. Merry Christmas
nakula the worlds most beautiful proboscis monkey
No, it’s not a muppet. This unforgettable primate, found in the mangrove forests of Borneo, is the proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus)! Also known as the long-nosed monkey, males of this species sport a distinctive drooping proboscis, which acts like a resonating chamber to amplify their vocalizations. Scientists think it’s a sexually selected trait—meaning that females prefer louder (and bigger-nosed) mates.

Jett Fillmore and Dennis Cooper in real life
Black panthers are not a distinct species, but rather leopards or jaguars with a genetic mutation called melanism that makes their fur appear black.
Even though they appear black, their spots (rosettes) are still visible in bright sunlight, looking similar to dark velvet.
Melanism is more common in dense rainforests, and about 11% of all leopards and jaguars may carry the gene.
They can leap up to 20 feet to catch prey and are strong enough to carry prey into trees.
Unlike many house cats, black panthers love the water and are excellent swimmers.
They are solitary, territorial, and very difficult to spot in the wild, often hiding in the shadows.
Only males proboscis monkeys have the distinctive, long, fleshy nose which can reach over 10 cm in length. It acts like a megaphone, amplifying their calls and helping attract females.
They're called Dutch monkeys. Personally, I'm offended. They're Polish monkeys! If you're familiar with Polish memes, you'll know.
They are highly aquatic and possess webbed toes and fingers, allowing them to swim up to 66 feet underwater to escape predators like crocodiles.
Their diet is mostly leaves, seeds, and unripe fruits. To handle this, they have complex, ruminant-like stomachs, similar to cows.
They often jump from high tree branches (up to 50 ft) into rivers with a loud, comical splash.
Found exclusively on Borneo, they are an endangered species threatened by habitat loss from palm oil plantations.
Young males leave their birth group at 18 months to join all-male bachelor groups.
I like how this movie uses some rare animals. It makes it more interesting. I hope it will be a positive for those endangered species. Dennis can swim with Archie, Modo and Jett. He's great at cannon balls.
