CALLING ALL SARAHS!, Cory Woodcock, April 2013
Second year, second term. I put out this call on social media sites, and then scheduled photo-shoots. The goal was to create photographs in which the subject had just as much power and control in the finished piece as I did as the photographer.
Process Driven work - Jonna Greenhill
Jonna Greenhill. 1997. Line Drawing. Pencil on paper.
I have recently been considering the role of process within my own work. This was initiated after finding similarities between Greenhill's and my own practice. When veiwing this line drawing I questioned: why did Greenhill stop at this point? Was it because she reached a set time limit?
‘Using the measure of time to develop and change the quality and direction of line,’ Greenhill’s drawing presents a ‘record of time experienced’ [Lampert, 2009: 54]. I want to explore my own development of line over time. Repeating an intricate pattern.
