Was in Oral Surgery block today and got to extract 3 teeth on my own on a somewhat anxious patient. (good thing he had no idea it was my first time :D)
2nd year is like working and being a student. End result = exhaustion. I try studying on my bed and then fall asleep without getting ready. Wake up in the middle of the night and try to study some more--usually end up just falling asleep anyway.
Clinic, despite going into it with the thoughts of caring for my patients, has been a rough transition.. like calling patients who don’t respond, dealing with axium (software for clinic), and working with faculty who all have a different idea of what’s important and not to mention, personalities. Though it’s getting better, it was not a good feeling 5 weeks ago, when I wanted to treat/bring in patients and had no idea how.
Hopefully I can cram in some reading and studying before class tomorrow.
