he's hiked for GOD ONLY KNOWS how long on the tail end of a near - death experience that he's certain has left more than a few bruises underneath his stained t - shirt .

𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐔𝐒𝐇 greeted alex as he'd first walked through the doorway of the cabin , one of the few safe meeting places left to those still resisting the seeds dominion over hope county . fast on the heels of that silence came a few threats , demands for information .

how did he get out ? what happened after the radio went silent ? how was he still alive ?

alex is no stranger to the distrust , knows it's likely what's kept most of them alive this long . he doesn't take it personally , only explains that a brick and cleverly - executed bail out spared him from the same explosion that destroyed his vehicle ( and one of JOHN SEED'S SILOS ) .

eventually , the questions end and the people disperse , and all that's left is a somewhat friendly face and a COLD BEER pressed into his hand .
