𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙨, 𝙩𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙥. this place is different, bo always says every time he comes home (wherever home is that night), always with carefully wrapped up leftovers, enough for he and mako to share — but orphanages always give mako pause and plentiful anxiety. bolin says that the lady who runs the place is different, too — different than the people who run the orphanage they end up in at the beginning, where the only safe choice is to run away and stay together, even on the streets.
“ 𝚒𝚜 𝚖𝚢 𝚋𝚛𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚢 𝚝𝚘 𝚐𝚘, 𝚖𝚊'𝚊𝚖? ” he always walks bolin home, usually coming straight from work or rifling through dumpsters if he can’t find any work that day, but he doesn’t always talk to the lady who feeds them both. in fact, he’s never even seen her before; but mako also has never stepped inside himself.
