Two more Fallout 4 labels and food retexture that I’ve made recently. Coffee tin was a headache: for some reason vanilla texture was squeezed and the lid was mirrored. Here’s a collage to show various steps. Even though I’ve spent 3 hours on editing stretched textures I couldn’t get a result without distortion.
Vegetable starch had the quickest post-processing ever, but it was hard to come up with label ideas. Then I found a 1950s ad that was perfect. I added pictures of grapes to starchy vegetables that reminded me of mutfruit (original recipe for veggie starch is mutfruit, corn, tato and water, but - surprisingly - no gourd).
From now on I won’t add halftones - they have too much noise in game and make normal maps dotted. New food textures will be cotton candy bites, potted meat, bubble gum and dirty water. I’ve started beans a month ago, but can’t finish the label design, some weird artist’s block. Also it would be cool to redesign junk like aluminum and tin cans (they will look better with labels) as well as paintings and posters. But I don’t want to unarchive BA2 folders to find these textures.
I made these labels a while ago and I was really happy with the result, last one was Potted Meat (nice bonus - it is also an Empty Can). Then I started Dirty Water and even canned Mirelurk - and got stuck. None of new designs were good enough or retro enough, it’s like I lost inspiration. Maybe I should try to retexture Cotton Candy Bites, because the box is going to have Nuka Cola influence and red color - that’s a good start.
