Productivity: Day 1 of 100
March 8th Breakdown:
- Learned a new set of Latin vocabulary today with some new sentence structure and I feel a little disoriented, but I also know that ease it will come with time and practice.
- I strengthened five French skills on Duolingo. For the most part it felt as though I was merely refreshing my memory on some terms which is a good thing. I can, however, see the importance of me applying these phrases in real life situations because I can remember the meanings, but structuring my own sentences is where the trouble lies.
- I also read a short story in French. I love the idea of reading in my target language because I feel that it helps develop vocabulary and grammar skills easier.
- I read 25 pages of “Happy Like This.” I find the structure of the book interesting since it is structured very scientifically because the main character is working on writing a dissertation. There are also no italics or quotations to mark dialogue which threw me off also in the previous book I read for my Form & Tech. class.
- I meditated for 15 minutes. I would like to eventually get my meditation time up to 45 minutes. I am also trying a new thing of meditating before I practice to see if it will help me quiet the voices of my inner demons.
- I practiced for a total of thirty minutes today which actually doesn’t sound like a lot, but it was a huge step in a more positive direction. I worked on the exposition to Mozart’s Sonata in G Major.
- I had too much to read for my Critical Theory class along with all the Baroque History homework I had to do so I only chose the topic for my Research Methods final paper which will be “Nationalism in Russian Music.”
- I read all the readings for my Critical Theory course tomorrow and it was about Asian American feminism. For my formal assignment, I ended up writing about how their feminism is basically centered about uniting their differences within themselves and within other cultures as well.
- I read up to page 41 of The Shadow of the Wind.
- I read up to page 20 of American Dirt.
