#paint #process | A new work underway in Ryan Dineen’s studio today http://www.ingramgallery.com/artists/ryan-dineen/index.htm
Rehearsal, 28/11/17
I was unable to attend this rehearsal as it clashed with the Dickie Beau show that Neil had suggested we watch, to which I’d already paid for.
However, it was suggested that we all come up with ideas for our possible personas prior to said rehearsal.
The rough notes I sent into our group chat were:
‘Since Teri is doing tech now, I wouldn’t mind taking over a narrator/commentator role on what’s going on making all of you guys my possessions. This means I could easily slip into anything you guys are already doing, it connects with the audience and it’s a technique FE use in one of their shows that I saw before deciding to join this group.’
The shows I am specifically speaking about are:
‘And on the Thousandth Night...’

‘#Quizoola24′

Nothing was set in stone though and I asked the group to let me know if they had taken a different direction within the rehearsal, as I would be happy to alter anything for them if what I had suggested for myself no longer worked within the context.
What design tool or accessory could you not live without and why?
According to a pool of designers, the humble Post-It note is the unanimous answer.
At Common Works we use a lot of post it notes. We find them really useful for quickly getting ideas down that can be ordered, reshuffled and restuck as the design process evolves. They can also stand in for just about anything, whether they’re frames of a story board or the different sketched elements of a user interface. [Chris Waggot, founding director, Common Works]
It’s also a great visual accessory you can spice up any meeting with. Interactive, fun and practical. [Jenny Theolin, creative partner at Studio Theolin]
Other responses included a notebook, Wacom tablet and mobile phone.
I think painting to me is not about recording the likeness. But I think a painting for me is about process, and process of looking is very conflicting.

Something accidental. A glitch with inDesign but I'm into it.
It was supposed to say Stop trying to be everything to everyone. But that "y" got lost somewhere.
