       ⤑ if they were keeping score, the senator’s definitely ahead in the ‘saving each other from mortal danger’ department. finn’s sure it’s the lightsaber.

       ⤑ he’s not officially part of the senator’s retinue of guards, not with how important he is to the resistance. finn’s a good soldier, a straight shooter. it’s more effective, that he make up part of the front lines that try to save planets from being swallowed whole under the first order. it doesn’t mean that the senator doesn’t find pleasure in stealing him away on the days they do end up on the same system.

      ⤑ finn remembers the exact shade of flushed that coloured ben’s unpainted face the first time he surprised him enough to make him turn red and not the other way around.

     ⤑ senator ben only has to verbally flay a council delegate once in front of finn for him to recognise that he really does not need finn’s help in that department either. not that finn lets the troops around him run their mouth. they know better.

HMMM. I don’t really think so? Or at least, I try my hardest to keep her as close to canon as I can manage. I guess that’s the hard part of RP, right? We all justify and make decisions about our canonical characters that we think are correct, and that’s what makes everyone’s portrayal unique.

✘ Any unpopular opinions about your muse?

I’m so bad at this tbh ??? I try not to read too much stuff the fandom says, because they can be hurtful and idk fandoms intimidate me a lot? I think that I play up Rey’s strengths a lot more than the fandom likes to, though? It’s not necessarily an opinion but idk man IDK I’M SO BAD AT THIS STUFF.

♢ What's your opinion on different interpretations of your muse?

o H man I love ??? reading all the interpretations. Some of my faavorite people ( cough @shadcwpreacher cough ) are other rey portrayals. I mean I do get duplicate anxiety quite often, but I only get it because I think all of the other Reys on this site are so ??? FUCKING AMAZING. Like shout out to all the Reys out there, you guys are fucking beautiful and amazing and I just cry. You all have such gorgeous portrayals and you do amazing jobs with your portrayals <3 <3

✦ Has your own interpretation changed from when you first began playing the character?

She definitely has become more of a warrior princess, tbh. I’ve absolutely embraced her inner badass, because I think it gets side tracked too often. People forget how fucking strong she is, how she’s lived her whole life alone and how deeply that would impact her. I’ve made it my goal to embrace Rey’s predatory, badass essence fully.

finn’s kissing booth (?????)

           finn must’ve seen something, he must’ve spotted someone, because what else can make him whirl around that quickly? what else can make him tug the front of the senator’s outfit, dragging their faces together as he tilts his head up and licks his way into ben’s mouth with naught a word spoken between them? there’s no buildup, nothing reserved about the way he kisses him— assertive, uncompromising as he steals a quick nip, the tip of his tongue finding the seam of ben’s lips to press forward.

           nostrils flair in breathlessness, his lungs burn but finn only moves his arms up, squeezing not unkindly upon tightly muscled shoulders to keep ben there. a beat then another. he’s tasted his way into the senator’s mouth, framing him between hands that— to a bystander— may be tangling in onyx locks but in reality are barely touching those waves. vircon eyes open, studying the spot just beyond the senator’s shoulders before tapping him lightly. the first order troopers are gone. their covers are safe.

oh man oh man ty for this kyle i love???? my favourite reference, okay. okay. SO.

Lazarus, Saint Lazarus or Lazarus of Bethany all refer to the man who was resurrected by Jesus four days after he had died. The Raising of Lazarus is the biblical narrative in which Jesus got word that Lazarus was ill but instead of heading over to him immediately, he hung about and only made it there after Lazarus had been declared dead and put in his tomb. It’s here that we get Jesus saying,

❝I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die❞ (John 11:25)

It’s important here that when Jesus resurrected him, it is done so in front of a crowd of Jewish mourners who many are said to have “believed” in him because of it.

So really, this ties into why I call Finn the patron saint of revolution because this deals very heavily into what I headcanon as the events post TFA with regards to the first order. more specifically, first order stormtroopers. 

y’all know i love that the first order has so much propaganda surrounding them, they control the narrative so that you never question what you believe and this is especially true for stormtroopers. I’ve talked about some of it before but here’s the thing: fn-2187 was a stormtrooper. fn-2187 wasn’t a resistance plant, they whisper. he was a stormtrooper.

and that’s a dangerous thought to have so what does the first order tell them, the thousands of soldiers scattered across the planet, in training facilities and star destroyers, in outposts and midflight between systems? how do they stop the whispers from spreading?

❝the traitor is dead. the traitor dies by the hand of kylo ren, knight of knights. the first order reigns supreme. the first order is victorious in its revenge.❞

but the resistance, unitary as they are, singular though they may be, raises him from death. fn-2187 may have died but finn has been reborn. resurrected. finn is lazarus to the frontline soldiers. finn’s very presence makes them believe. finn becomes the patron saint of revolution because fn-2187 was a stormtrooper and now he is finn, a person all on his own.
