Timotheé: He knows Oliver is out, wants to poke through his stuff a little maybe, it did used to be his room, right?
Luca: And then he sees the shorts?
Timotheé: right, right, he sees the shorts that Oliver is always Wearing.
Luca: Why does he smell them?
Timotheé: You know that same reason guys smell girls panties, right?
Luca: Yes, sure. I think he also wants to really be close to Oliver, right?
Timotheé: yes, yes. He wants to be close with Oliver in a way that he’s just not able to right now, you know in real life.
Luca: Tell me, what is Elio thinking about during this scene? Is he fantasizing about Oliver? Has he thought about other men this way before or is this sort of a first for him? An awakening?
Timotheé: This is his first time really fantasizing about sleeping with a man. He knows he’s really attracted to Oliver, but I think this is his first time really being like “do I want to fuck him?” Or “what would it be like to fuck him?”
Luca: yes! Ah yes, I think you are right about that. So, I want you to come in, see the shorts, and sort of...well the script says Elio puts the shorts on, but just do whatever feels natural.
