Surgery Fundraising Update - March 13, 2025

At the beginning of this year, I began posting that I'm raising money so that I can get a necessary surgery done this summer. If you want to know the basics, check out my pinned post.

I've been pretty vague about some details of this, largely for reasons of privacy, but also because until now, it's been unclear how much money I'd actually need. As of today, however, I've been informed that my insurance will not be covering any part of the procedure, which means that I'll need to pay the entire bill of $24,000.

So far, I've done most of my talking about this fundraiser in the form of advertising my library of games, which I still intend to do - if you want to help me out, buying my work is still the best place for it. To better my odds, though, I think it's time to widen my scope.

Firstly - I have a ko-fi! It's extremely bare-bones, so I can't say anything about rewards or perks - but you can throw me some extra money if you're not otherwise interested in any of my games, or you can sign up for its $2/month tier to help me out if you like.

Secondly - I am now open for freelance RPG writing commissions! I can do design work, microfiction, or even copy for your own game. If you'd like to hire me, please contact me via [email protected].

Thirdly - I'm open for professional GM work! I've been running games since I was a teenager, and I'm proud to say that I have an extensive and growing number of games under my belt, and I specialize in introducing players to new systems, and to running games for new players. Beneath the glittering lights of Stardust Station we find the Stardust Sonic Gauntlet. Musical groups from all corners of the galaxy come here to show their prowess and chase eternal glory. Build your ragtag group of alien dreamers and face off against the reigning champion, the Empress of Pop, Zaylor Lightspeed.

Players will build a team of alien rockstars, come up with a genre and band name, and throw themselves into the waiting maw of the Gauntlet, in this Hitchhiker's Guide meets Scott Pilgrim one-shot romp.

We will be running in FATE Core, with a couple elements from Accelerated. This game is a friendly introduction for first-time FATE players.

Do you like D&D? I love D&D. It's been a big part of my life for the last decade. However, while I can't speak for anyone else, once Draw Steel releases, it will take D&D's place as my favorite heroic TTRPG.

Heart of Arcana has been working on a lovely adventure for this upcoming game called Tomb of the Crescent Moon and I've offered to give it a whirl!

Do you like video games like Monster Hunter and Breath of The Wild? Have you ever wanted to play an MMO where your story is *actually* unique to you?

Well, allow me to present my latest hyperfixation project:

What lies beyond? A West Marches game with roleplaying, drama, open-world exploration, and survival horror elements.

1-3 timeslots are posted weekly; I expect times to usually be Monday, Wednesday or Friday nights (EST), with occasional weekends.

The level 1-4 areas already incorporate over 40 published modules into the open world (adapted for the setting, of course) plus lots of my own creations.

I’m looking for 4-8 more players to start with.

Each session is 20$. You can play as often or as little as you like!

This song is the main theme of my Akamel: Overkill album, which I made for a D&D campaign of mine many years ago.

Imperfect as everything on this album was, it represents a great time in my life that I look back fondly on. A goofy campaign run by me and played in by my coworkers, it evolved into something a little more genuine and emotional in a way only something like that can.

This admittedly shabby art is an imitation of the group's logo, originally drawn by one of the party members (shoutout to Dylan).

This song is the main theme of my Ordning album, which I made for a D&D campaign of mine a few years ago. Ordenheim, once the home of giants, is now home to complex orc politics, freezing cold, and the many Witch-Clans of the Coldlight Timberland.
