🏕️ If this is your first time, Tales From the Singing Porch is a folktale-fiction anthology podcast. The Singing Porch is a magical place where stories creak and whisper under the floorboards, with each episode lovingly brought to life with award-winning sound and music.
🦋 Maya and I believe in making great fiction, and we know the oral tradition is the best way to tell a story. So, we created Tales From the Singing Porch to bring the magic of campfire folktales to life and directly to your ears!
🌼 Well… aren’t you just a teensy bit interested? Make sure to give us a follow and listen to the Singing Porch—you’re welcome here with us anytime. 😉
Support an indie-animated vampire comedy series! 🍓🦇
Emily Brundige / Li'l Toughy has vast experience as a creator, writer, and artist for series such as Pubertina, Hilda, and Goldie. (I remember seeing Pubertina as a young teenager (I don't even want to count the years... it makes me feel old!) So I was surprised to see this creator come back onto my feed after all this time.
I watched the pilot a couple months ago and saw that this pilot was funded using Kickstarter. The heart of the story is Franny, the titular "Strawberry Vampire" whose struggles, perseveres and succeeds as an immigrant, from competitions and in school to having pride in her roots and family. The push-and-pull between "fitting in" and "standing out" is something I think everyone can relate to.
This animatic is dynamic, with energy firing on all cylinders with the storyboards, voice actors, and sound design. All in all, it's a lovely and unique story (not to mention Franny's design is adorable!) I encourage everyone to watch it and enjoy! 😊
And now after reaching over 200k views on YouTube, Emily is now hosting a second Kickstarter to fund the second animatic.
At the time of writing this, the Kickstarter is 67% funded (meme number coincidence? I think not.) And there are 12 days left to fund.
There are many tiers that include special goodies -- not just with the final product of course, but merch! Enamel pins, sticker packs, the cutest Franny keychain, and posters galore! Other tiers include custom artwork from various artists, including members of the "Strawberry Vampire" team and creators from several animated series!
You can really tell this is a labor of love with a lot of creative support behind it. I feel proud to be a part of this passionate indie project! Please check it out below, and consider supporting this project:

If you're not able to give monetarily, please share and spread the word, not just on Tumblr, but IRL as well! ❤
I think Franny's story can appeal to many people (and not just because it is an "all ages" story). You can be a fan of the fictional "strawberry vampire" lore and supernatural elements, or how it shows the perspective of an immigrant family, or just plain-old relatable middle school drama!
EMERGENCY FUNDS NEEDED: Help Me Move Out of this Dump
My housing situation has deteriorated even further. The trash chute room is locked permanently, the dumpsters outside are overflowing, the apartment complex is infested with roaches, and our maintenance guy just quit.
Living in this place for the past three years has caused harm to my physical and mental health. With the general state of things around me getting worse, it's become imperative that I be able to move closer to my family support system as soon as possible.
Moving Fund Goal: $400/1200
I have a jewelry shop with attractive accessories including glasses chains, charm bracelets, statement earrings and beaded bookmarks. I do custom charm bracelets, bookmarks and glasses chains. I've only had two sales this month. The winter holidays are just around the corner. Please consider supporting a queer disabled artist by buying a gift for your loved one.
My novella is out in the world and available to anyone who wants to read it on KU, or you can purchase it in paperback!
You can find it here.
It would mean the world if y'all read it and review it wherever you review your books. It's very short, you can read it in one sitting and, if I can say so myself, it's very, very cute!
