people who are pretentious about prog are doing it all wrong. prog is about funny guitars and writing songs about goofy ass shit like sentient armadillo tanks. the correct music to be pretentious about is my chemical romance
my current favorite Music Fun Fact: the reason that prog rock band yes made a couple new-wavey albums in the 80s is that after losing their frontman, they absorbed the buggles (band that did video killed the radio star) and made trevor horn their lead singer for 1 album and producer for 2
