For the person asking about programming practice: I am in a similar situation, and one thing where I improved enormously was doing a Computer Science competition where you had solve problems and then write the corresponding programs, though I don't know to what extent/what format this exists in your country

I'm in Arkansas for a programming competition and apparently my team is signed up in Java and not C++ and I am now going to spend the next 12 hours of my life learning Java. But actually in probably going to end up just writing logic in C++ and then giving it to my team to translate. Fun times.

I forget to post about coming in 2nd place at the programming competition on Friday! Our team will be moving on to regional's which is in Rochester, NY next month~! Im super excited! (and I realized that literally no one probably knows what a programming competition is or cares)
