Drarry projects on tumblr appreciation
It’s summer, it’s hot, too many words makes head hurt, but. This is important. Did you know? That this fandom is blessed with so many cool individuals, who create the COOLEST projects? (Yes: really, really, really cool). Like:
1. @drarrymicrofic. I, for one, wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the sweat and tears and SWEETness of the people of @drarrymicrofic. Running such a large operation must be one hell of an endeavour, but they do it all with so much love, with so much passion for the craft and the people behind it. Sparking inspiration, cheering people on, giving a boost to new writers (and old!), changing lives. Yeah. To the people behind drarry microfic: thank you.
2. Tuesday TLC Zone – sometimes being kind is hard. Especially to yourself. @the-starryknight takes time and effort to remind us it’s possible, that it’s important, gives us a gentle push to explore the things we like, to spread love and joy and yes, kindness, into the world. To share positivity, and also share bits of ourselves. Because we’re allowed, because it’s fun, because it matters. Thank you, Starry.
3. @magicaltrans is doing such brilliant, remarkable work, creating a much needed safe space for trans individuals in this fandom, giving a hand and a boost and so so much support. We all know where the source material for our fandom comes from. And in this place, magical trans is here celebrating trans people, trans love, trans joy, trans being! Making a space! They also mod a discord server (if the link in this post doesn’t work, ask them for a new one). To the people behind magical trans: thank you.
4. Wizards Hearts is the @gameofdrarry community fest that celebrates existing works rather than creating new ones. It’s so easy to forget older fics when so much is being made all the time - which makes this initiative so incredible! Showering existing works with love, shining a light on new (to-you) fic, creating recs and generating joy: just, absolutely brilliant. Thank you!
5. @crazybutgood‘s Author Appreciation Project – CBG puts so much work and thought and heart into her origami art, using her incredible talent to bring people together, to give us the chance to flail about each other, to let us shower each other with love. Then she takes all that and condenses it into the world’s most enchanting, special rec posts. Thank you, CBG!
6. @drarryspecificrecs does incredible work organising SO MUCH information of drarry fic, whether it’s in the daily lists (at @drarryspecificrecsdaily, for example here for July 31st), the monthly longest-fic lists (see here for July this year), fest information (see here for 2022). Where would we be without them? I shudder at the thought. Thank you for the magic!
7. I know what you’re thinking: fests, Robin, what about fests? Well. The thing is, there are so many fests, ran by so many wonderful people who give us their time? Actually for free? There’s @hd-wireless and @hp-fearfest and @hp-bodiceripper and @hd-fan-fair and @lcdrarry and @hpdrizzle and @hdsudsfest and and and honestly I can’t even begin to—I can’t. So I’ll just say: wow, wow, wow, and also a sort of teary-eyed, misty, big thank you.
