The Duality of Balance is an original poem written solely for this project in May 2017. If used in any other projects, please consult with the Reylo Anthology moderators first.
For anyone who is interested, the full poem is below.
the duality of balance Your path and mine initially clashed with discord, a recurring theme in our story. (1) And yet, marked as our differences were, there was harmony in between. (2) An accompaniment of diverging tales filled with hatred, (3) a disparity of our affinity that stemmed from a long lost connection. (4) Our first encounter... (5) ... was the last chapter of who we used to be; (6) we were stripped of our old, lonely lives (7) and somehow, like fate, we set a course for the new. (8) You were abandoned, were you not? (9) By those who should have cherished you the most. (10) You claimed this as your weakness. (11) In truth, this was the root of our strength. (12) As the tales spin forth, who can say I saw you as an enemy from the start? (13) Were you always on my mind? A waiting friend? (14) We knew fear first (as change is frightening), (15) but please don’t misunderstand; it takes courage to do what we do when our paths cross. (16) Our lives, always so bleak in nature (17) Began to bloom with bright visions of change and purpose. (18) So tell me, why is it that light brings forth hidden truths (19) and the dark keeps us from going blind? (20) Because time and time again, when we have ample reason to fight— We instead reach out, wanting something no one else could never understand. Like everything else between us, like the stars against the dark of the sky and the moon that pulls the tide, there must always be balance.
