“A King without a domain is a King undeserving of his crown.”
NUMBER: Around 100-300 clansmen, unconfirmed.
PERSONALITY: A king not only in name, Touya carries himself with the airs of regal authority, even in contrast to the majority of his clan members. Haughty, arrogant and aloof, Touya looks down on anyone who isn’t his clanmates. He barely considers other Kings to be his rival, believing himself to be ‘invincible’ compared to them. He speaks of lofty ideals, yet hides his disgust at society for the abandonment he suffered. His sole purpose is to rebuild a society that doesn’t revolve around Kings and Clans; he wants to become the one true and benevolent ruler of those who had been abandoned or left behind.
Despite his arrogant demeanor, Touya is well-learned, largely self taught from many plundered books within his ‘kingdom’. His personal vow is never to owe anyone anything whatsoever and will never turn on his own word. He absolutely abhors liars and those who break their promises. The sword that hangs above him is not something he takes very lightly. Having found that the very same power was the same that took everything from him, he is careful never to use his power excessively, to preserve his longevity. After all, a King must rule for many years to come.
BIOGRAPHY: Ever since that day, Touya had known nothing but loss. Robbed of his precious family, he was appalled to find that he...was simply blotted away. Not only was his family killed by reckless Kings, they dared murder his family once again by simply erasing them in vague hopes of forgetting the sin of the Kagutsu incident. Enraged by this, he eventually came to curse at the powers that made it all possible, even when that same power was, ironically, bestowed upon him.
He rallied those who were simply left behind by what he saw as this ‘unfair’ and ‘unjust’ society: the poor, the destitute and the homeless were quick to flock to the fledgling King. He claimed a derelict fishing port, long abandoned and soon established his ‘Kingdom’ there. With supposed ‘regal’ virtue he declared himself as a King within his own territory, perpetually shrouded by deep fog. Anyone who attempted to enter into his realm unwanted would only be lost within the fog, deceived by dancing shadows and the prying eyes of his clansmen lying in wait.
Whenever the fog falls within any part of town, KingsGATE emerges from within. Silenced and obscured by the fog, Touya’s clansmen pretty much steal whatever isn’t bolted down or held by anyone. By the time the fog fades, he and his clansmen disappear without a trace, stores cleaned out of food, medicine and building materials. Time and time again other Kings have tried to challenge him, but were lost hopelessly within the dense fog cast by his Aura. Even other Kings cannot so easily penetrate within the veil of fog.
For this reason, Touya believes himself to be more of a King than any of the other Clan members: no one would try to violate his territory, even less would attempt to fight him when the fog would obscure even where his clansmen would be.
POWER: Unlike his predecessor Tenkei Iwafune, Shingetsu Touya’s fog has very poor defensive measures. If anything, Touya can easily be the absolute worst King in terms of combat capability.
However, Touya’s strength lies not in defense or offense, but rather, in his ability to hide and obscure. Wherever there is fog, Touya can obscure his form, muffling out any sound and severely limiting one’s vision inside. However all of his Clansmen can perfectly see and hear through the cloud, making engagements within his aura a foolish choice. He and his clansmen can also appear and disappear with the fog, able to travel great distances in the blink of an eye, so long as they are covered by the Fog and appear in an area where there is Fog.
His approach is started by his faithful Clansmen, who designate an area and then use their Aura to call the Fog. Only then would he and his other clansmen appear, taking whatever they need before disappearing with the Fog.
While his powers are incredibly limited, he relies on his Fog purely to defend his realm. He makes no attempts to encroach upon other territories, content only to defend the land he calls his own. His clansmen, composed of the homeless, the destitute and those left behind by society respect his every measure and even runs his territory as if it was another city within: doctors, self-taught teachers and even buskers number among his Clan.
His Fog is strongest within his own domain. Because he rarely ever engages in combat, he can afford to create fog so thick that not even other Kings could approach it without difficulty. From the Fog his clansmen can attack, appearing and disappearing almost instantaneously making fights within his area of influence a losing battle. It is by this that Touya remains as the ruler of his ‘kingdom’.
