now let's kick off the more freely posting part of #SVTheBrokenMirror : I made kind of a roadmap flowchart of all the stuff I need to do and the rough order it needs to be in (story and characters come before teams and portraits, for example) and it's still pretty complicated
right now i'm running down my list of 200-250 mons and marking who uses each one to try and avoid overlap or characters that don't have fitting enough teams, and then i'll probably be doing the same for biomes having fitting mons, and then re-tallying to make sure the types are all balanced, and
editor's note: definitely 250 at least (current-day additions to my posts will be formatted this way). turned out i was lacking a generic common fish like goldeen if you can believe it
i also need to figure out what features i have access to in advance when the version of essentials included in this GSC pack is older than gen 9 and not compatible with terastallization plugins out of the box without carefully updating code i don't entirely understand
long story short, the GSC style fork of pokemon essentials is in gen 8 -- years behind the main branch -- and changes way too much stuff to try and modernize or recreate on my own. unlike when i posted this, though, i am patiently awaiting an official update from the GSC kit's new owner(s) rather than assuming it won't.
whether or not that's going to be a thing affects the mechanics, the worldbuilding, what teams the gyms will have…
the more you do stuff like this the more you respect it
luckily i have the story and characters mostly figured out and plenty of practice from #HamsLeagueClub as far as what they're going to talk about goes
not actually gonna show any of those planning docs yet sorry
