no such thing as a dumb question I promise you're all good friend :)
Deadtree is connected to the Sims 2 PSP map, as shown here:
I feel like you've addressed this someplace but I can't find it, so I'm sorry if I'm the millionth ask about this - but did the all the strangetown in one hood get cancelled?
Hi hi. Short answer: I got bored with the project at the same point when I also ran out of free time to work on it.
I started Project Strangetown in all of its forms (including lot building, sim creation, SimWiki deep-diving, multiple play-thrus of TS2 PSP/Sims 2 GBA/DS, etc.) when I was finishing my undergrad. When I graduated, I had most big pieces complete but it still required more time -- hence its initial delay from October 2019 to 2020.
And 2020 was a LOT of fun as everyone remembers!
For most of 2020 I was unemployed and had oodles of free time, so I worked at PSP Strangertown and DS/GBA Strangeytown like mad. I pretended it was my job in place of actually having one, and that helped my spiralling mental health like you would not believe.
But then, happily, in January 2021 I found gainful employment which ultimately lead me to my present dream job (yay!), but the catch being that I no longer had oodles of free time like I used to. At the same time, I was getting naturally bored with Strangetown -- having worked on it obsessively since summer 2019, it was time to drive away from that desert town.
I was careful to upload all the pieces to the Project Strangetown puzzle though -- lots, maps, sims -- so that others could take what they liked and make their own Strangetowns, including the all encompassing Strangesttown, should anyone have the free time and passion for it that I lack.
"Well, that's my life! Thank you so much for spending time with me. I hope you enjoyed it, 'cause I know I did."

Project Strangetown: 18 Sims from The Sims 2: DS + The Sims 2: GBA
Since the DS/GBA story lines seem to take place in the same universe/timeline with a lot of character overlap, it made sense to combine them. I decided on a couple exceptions:
- I did not include PC sims (Tank Grunt, Johnny Smith, etc.) or any NPC that didn’t serve a story purpose (Saloon Chick, Safari Chick, etc).
- Some sims I feel are better suited for a different set so I didn’t include them here. For example, Cannonball Coleman and Futo Maki are, in my opinion, Urbz sims so I’m reserving them (and others) for that future set.
- Noticeably missing is Optimum Alfred, a servo. It seemed redundant to upload a servo that will be 100% identical to any in-game one.
