THE PILE PRESENTS: X-Play - Ninja Gaiden Ligma
Wish your handler sounded like Arianna Huffington?
DAY 1669) Project Sylpheed - Main Theme
Composer: Kenichiro Fukui
mostly all just 4/4 except for the bit toward the very end, 2:33 - 2:44 is all 7/4.
The odd time here is pretty much the same as the odd time part in “Return To The Skies“ from this game. As I mentioned on my post for that one this is by Kenichiro Fukui and I think the resemblance to Einhander (one of my fav soundtracks, with a good bit of odd time stuff that i’ve posted before) is definitely here
DAY 969) Project Sylpheed - Return to the Skies
Composer: Kenichiro Fukui
This just has a tiny bit of 7/4 for 4 bars from 1:29 - 1:41. Same composer as Einhander here and I think you can see a tiny bit of similarity, even if this is pretty different instrumentation.
DAY 931) Project Sylpheed - Tactics Briefing-A
Composer: Takahiro Nishi
7 all the way through!
Before the strings come in it kind of implies a slower 4/4 +3/4 “7/4″ feel with the hi hat, but once the strings come in it feels like a much brisker “7/8″ 2+2+3, especially with that kick drum.
Love the cool chords and sounds in this one!
That time when Squeenix had a go at a space game. It wasn’t actually too bad.
