I think I filled in everyone's Pokémon, but now there's a whole thing with Lex's Vaporeon accidentally getting pregnant and now everyone has an eeveelution because he can't keep the babies, he's too busy :(

It also gives me a vague timeline for getting Lionel to pull his shit together.

Trying a snippet for Lionel so I can get inside his head for this AU, and like.

He just does not get it.

He's had one Pokémon in his entire life. One. That he found in an alleyway and that he battled with for necessity. As soon as it was no longer necessary, that Pokémon was sleeping on his bed and in front of the fireplace and was perfectly happy being a pet. As soon as he got that insurance money in-hand, he got a trainer license as a status symbol and promptly did not use it.

Lex enjoys battling. His Pokémon enjoy battling. Lex doesn't need money from the circuit, he's not at risk of being randomly attacked on the street. So Lionel just. Does not get the appeal.

Day 1 already has 12 plot points just for Clark and Lex. This does not include anything Lionel's doing, because I haven't finalized his first arc yet.

Does Whitney die?

Okay, that's an interesting one I haven't really thought about.

Like, I've thought about him vaguely in the sense of how he plays into other people's stories, but not his personal story.

Probably not, though.

The world is structured differently. The Pokémon World has unique sports and activities, not just the standard sports, and I think the Pokémon-oriented sports would be more important to people than, say, football. Smallville High probably has a PokéRinger team, and Smallville itself holds Pokémon Orienteering competitions fairly frequently, since they're surrounded by so much wilderness. Plus there's Battle Teams.

Whitney would probably be on the Battle Team, and if he took off from Smallville, it would likely be to pursue a career as a battler on the professional circuit, or to compete in the League, not to join the military, so he wouldn't be in the middle of any kind of deadly conflict.

Which creates some interesting opportunities for stories.

I know you said Vaporeon, Kabutops and Lilligant and Chariot but I feel like there's more.

This isn't really a full or complete list. Lex has been a trainer for a long time, he definitely has more in storage that we're not going to see, but this is what I at least think will end up on-page eventually.

She would probably find Bunnybuns sometime after. I don't imagine they would give her an easy way to escape.

But she would probably escape so she could go on her adventure and get a Pokémon. Can't have an adventure from a lab cell!
