"This is not something I am particularly proud of, but for a few months now I have been struggling financially. I know that some of you in the fandom know already since I’ve asked for help once before on my Sterek blog. Two of you even sent me money which was incredibly nice.

I’ve been living on my own for 2 years now and have been working a steady job, but I’m still struggling to pay my bills and for basic necessities.

My father, who also has money problems, often needs me to help him. I let him use my credit card a lot in the past because I didn’t know how to tell him no when he so obviously needed my help. So consequently, my credit card monthly bill alone is really high. No one uses it anymore, though, and my father and I are trying to pay the monthly bills together. We try to help each other as much as we can, but now it’s simply getting too much. I had some money saved to help me with emergencies, but I’ve almost used it all to pay bills over the last few months. I considered going back to live back with my father and my step-mother, but her son came back to live with them and there’s no space for me.

My financial situation has been understandably affecting my mental health. My anxiety and depression have never been worse. I just really don’t know what to do anymore.

My amazing friends (internet and local) have been an amazing emotional support. I don’t know what I would do without them. They obviously have their own lives and can’t afford to help me financially even though I know they would love to.

So I turn to my second family: the Sterek fandom. You all have been there for me for years and for some of the worst times in my life. When my mother passed away the Sterek fandom helped me get through the worst of it. This fandom became my anchor. I’ll always be grateful for that.

Asking for financial help is always a challenge for anyone but Fandom Cares helped me through the process and reassured me the fandom wouldn’t hate me for it.

Any funds donated will go directly toward:

Rent - $545 a month Electricity - $42 a month Internet/Cable - $128 a month Cellphone - $99 a month Credit card bill - ~$400 a month Anxiety meds - $25 a month And the cost of groceries and basic necessities vary from month to month.

I will try to get my internet/cable bill to be less expensive by changing my plan so that bill might change.
