International Women’s Day 2020
Sunset Lane Entertainment is heading into its 12th year and I’m proud to say we are still going strong. I have not posted anything in a while, so it seemed appropriate to start again today. Networks, Producers, Directors and Idea Makers often call on me for programming about Women Empowerment and programming about women in music, sports, lifestyle, mentorship and more. More than half of these ideas don’t get produced due to lack of funding, rating woes, sponsorship or viewer interest.
I have been producing content for over 30 years and have always been passionate about supporting Women in Sports & Music. Did you know that only 4% of sports media coverage is devoted to women’s sports?? It seems crazy to me, but it's back by the WSF and I can attest to the lack of production funding as I have been on the seller side and it’s nearly impossible. But we continue to pursue the mission, especially this year as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women’s right to vote. Its an election year, and women to what we do best and forge ahead. Let's make the best of it, be inspired, be kind, be creative, be yourself and never give up.
