Go backstage and back in time with the executive producer of the 2000 Video Music Awards for untold stories of Christina Aguilera, Fred Durs
Hard to believe it is 25 years since this the 2000 Video Music Awards at RCMH. In 2000, we had quite the show, and here is a behind-the-scenes interview I did with Yahoo Entertainment.
Paying it forward in 2025 - #Environment
I have not posted on social media for a while because while the country feels like it is in turmoil, California was burning and good friends losing homes or living on fire alert, it just didnât feel right to share Q1 adventures and celebratory events in my personal life.
Throughout my travels from East to West, I noticed a common theme in the photos⌠the love of moving in the outdoors, nature, oceans, mountains, and most of all the Parks. We visited Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, CA. Alongside 7 of my closest friends, we explored the trails and marveled at the unique Rock Structures and Cactus throughout. The trails were barely marked, and only at the entrance to the Park did we see any Park Staff or Volunteers. As I read the recent news of the Government cutting jobs and funding to the US National Parks, one of the most coveted natural wonders of the world I just feel at a loss. What can I do from the northeast to convince our current President and the new Government officials how important this is to everyone in this country & the world? Â
Producing projects for the greater good is part of my DNA and reputation as being a âwoman of firstsâ... Throughout my Broadcast Career at MTV I remember the activism & shows produced with musicians, celebrities and new companies striving to make a difference. So now my SLE producing passions are paying it forward by joining local committees like the Charlestown Climate Resilience Commission, Volunteer efforts with RI Save The Bay, and advocating for clean air, oceans, climate, and the environment.Â
The media industry has changed so much, but we all have a voice, and while I am still active and healthy, I will continue to do my best. Â
Elections 2024...
Next Day... 11/6/24 It was a good fight and I still firmly believe that "Yes She Can". My message to our new Commander in Chief... Lead with respect to all people, stop the slander, stop the sexist comments, respect the scientist & teachers. Lead by example of kindness and empathy for our Children. I could go on and on but we need to put our energy into positivity for the future.
Christina Aguilera is a music icon, and it's hard to believe it's been 25 years since I worked with her throughout my MTV Career. This is one of the famous songs she shares with Sabrina Carpenter, and it was an amazing performance. Â
Well done to the production team. Music Collaboration at its finest!
Welcome Back Will Smith! Well done @BETAwards
2024 The Year for Exploring New Ideas & Events to Pay it Forward.
Here we go into a new year in a world full of challenges. The Media industry has changed so much, and our major Networks and Cable channels are struggling to stay on top. News coverage of the War(s), humanitarian crises with civilians affected by the war, Migrants who are fleeing their countries for a better life and the constant warnings of Global Warming and daily weather alerts has consumed our lives. Living at the beach I have watched the affects real time. Sometimes I just feel helpless.
But I have hope for the future as I watch the next generation breaking through with new leadership, education, advocacy, and determination. Its my job as the Principal at SLE to pay it forward and create content and events to build awareness, entertainment & education and help others wherever we can.
We are learning how to present music, entertainment, and messaging in a new way. Taking an example from the recent U2 concert I attended @The Sphere in Las Vegas. Bono & The Edge, the team at MSG and Sphere Entertainment, you nailed it. "Itâs a beautiful day..." letâs all make the best of it. Create, Explore, Travel, Kindness and Gratitude. 2024 here we come!

Machu Picchu, Peru - My once in a lifetime trip.....
Production life if all consuming, full time 24-7 thoughts run through your brain, body and attitude. As a professional woman, wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend - its a lot to juggle and one needs to be a master in multi-tasking to get it all done. The stress can be overwhelming, but as an Executive Producer and Production Executive we need to be calm and maintain quality leadership for the team.
For the past 40 years between raising a family and having a full time job, there is has been little time for my personal "bucket list". Now is the time, life in my 60's with so many successful shows, events, first time moments in broadcast under my belt - I chose to travel and thats what new in 2023. Skiing out west in Colorado and Utah, learning to Golf, but more recently my Trek on the Inca Trails to Machu Picchu with my daughter, Annabel. It was everything I had hoped for and more.
After 4 long days and 3 nights camping and trekking, 29 miles, 4 peaks, and summiting at almost 14,000' we made it. I trained for this, but Annabel and our team @TreXperience kept me going. No stress, no internet, no conference calls - just nature, learning the history of the Inca people, beautiful mountains & pure satisfaction of one of my best "firsts" ever.
To my fellow production piers & friends, just do it! Don't wait, proudly conquer the bucket list.
And now, back to work....
Producing MTV Iggyâs âBest New Band in the Worldâ was yet another highlight of my career at MTV! Nusrat had the vision and MTV World had the means to bring itâŚ

November, 2021: Production life is moving again for so many. We applaud ESPN & the espnW Summit for announcing Fifty/50: Title IX Programming for the 50th Anniversary in June 2022.Â
For years the development team at SLE and my fellow Producers have pitched Women in Sports Programming to various Networks and Streaming Platforms. It has been a tough journey as the development doors open and we begin to have interest and hope and then the door closes :( due to lack of funding.  I have asked the question time and time again - âHow will we increase the visibility and profiles of professional female Athletes if we donât create more original content about them ?â So what ESPN & espnW are is doing is a great start.Â
We hope to be able to announce something soon to add to this important milestone of Title IX coming in 2022. Keeping the faith & always an open door.Â
Happy Thanksgiving and my hope for unityÂ
What an honor to be a part of the #MTV40 Grammy Museum Mississippi Exhibit. Who would have known 33 years ago when I worked on a show called, âRemote Controlâ for this little cable channel called MTV that my career would have launched into 20 years of working with some of the most talent people in the industry, Artists & Performers, and on the coolest Award Shows, Music Specials, MTV Studio Events, and much more. The Museum offers an educational & entertaining way of exploring music history and how MTV shaped it. As a seasoned professional I am pleased to pay it forward to the next Gen. #SLELLC #Grammymuseumms #MTV40

Earth Hour 2020: Global Highlights Video - At a time where solidarity is saving lives, let's praise our Mother Earth and be thankful for Nature and the outdoors. Climate Change very real, peace everyone.Â
International Womenâs Day 2020
Sunset Lane Entertainment is heading into its 12th year and Iâm proud to say we are still going strong. I have not posted anything in a while, so it seemed appropriate to start again today. Networks, Producers, Directors and Idea Makers often call on me for programming about Women Empowerment and programming about women in music, sports, lifestyle, mentorship and more. More than half of these ideas donât get produced due to lack of funding, rating woes, sponsorship or viewer interest. Â
I have been producing content for over 30 years and have always been passionate about supporting Women in Sports & Music. Did you know that only 4% of sports media coverage is devoted to womenâs sports?? It seems crazy to me, but it's back by the WSF and I can attest to the lack of production funding as I have been on the seller side and itâs nearly impossible. But we continue to pursue the mission, especially this year as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment and womenâs right to vote. Its an election year, and women to what we do best and forge ahead. Let's make the best of it, be inspired, be kind, be creative, be yourself and never give up.Â
