Guard duty with Hydra prisoners. 

Sterling never thought that would be an assignment he would get but he was happy to take it. Having gone undercover in hydra for a few short months he had learned more than he thought he would, but most importantly of all he had learned how similar they were. He didn’t exactly have sympathy for them but he knew they were more than just monsters. 

But Lilith... Lilith scared him a bit. Because he didn’t believe a girl this young reached Hydra on her own. No, she was raised in hydra and it hardly seemed fair to have to punish someone so young for something she couldn’t control. 

“Belonging to Hydra is what got you here. Unfortunately, we can’t allow you go roam free.” He said calmly to the girl on the other side of the clear wall. He sat back down and watched her. “There’s nothing I can do. Get some rest.”

Despite his artificial nature, Vision was constructed very much like any human, organic tissue formed by strong metal. Like any other, it provided evidence of life. An electric shock could incapacitate him, but the one that struck him could not quite stop him heart.

As he slowly regained consciousness, he became aware of a head on his chest, pressed over his heart. It had slowed back to its usual calm as he had lay immobile. Suddenly remembering himself, he pushed himself up slowly, his only warning to the girl a sharp intake of breath as he took in their surroundings.

“That was-- unpleasant.”
