What do I want from the finale tonight?
Frigga
Frigga.
FRIGGA!!
Loki deserves a proper closure to that plot. His mother is brought up occasionally and he has that guilt of thinking it’s his fault she was killed. He needs that assurance that he’s on the right path and it’s not his fault. It’s just all meant to be in the timeline.
Thor got his moment with Frigga in Engdame, but he’s not the one who truly needs it. It’s Loki.
Is there any chance of this happening? Absolutely not. Just like I don’t think there a real chance of any Loki/Mobious ship. BUT I love to be proven wrong! Let’s see!
Well… I got the horns I wanted back.
But at what cost??
Well, hello 🤩
Ok, I have been trying to think of a concise way to describe how I feel about this movie, but I’m just going to have to be nit picky for now. There’s just too many little things to unpack.
#1 Infinity Conez
*sigh* Where do I even begin?
While this is a tiny, inconsequential bit in the movie, it just was a clear reminder that this movie doesn’t get it. Rather than honor and continue what has come before it, this movie chooses to just make fun of it all and do their own thing. In what world would Thor go from depression and grieving over Thanos and the infinity stones and then be okay with turning it into a tourist treat? It’s just weird!
New Asgard is a community of Asgardian refugees and survivors. In the beginning of Infinity War, we see Thanos wipe out half of the people on the vessel. It is gruesome. It is horrific.
It does not get fixed after the blip. Those people are still lost. By Thanos. By the infinity stones. The friends and families of those taken are now living in New Asgard to have a fresh start and cope with what has taken place.
So why would they be okay with giving this guy a funny ice cream stand?
When he killed half of their people? Tortured their would-be king and murdered their prince?
Sounds to me like this movie doesn’t care. This movie chooses to ignore that fact and make this a nonsensical thrill ride while ignoring the history, grandeur, and legacy of the Asgardians.
What do I want from the finale on Thursday?
The regalia.
The majesty.
The horns!!
Come on! We deserve it!
Am I the only one who misses the season 1 vibes??? There was something about it that I feel like just isn’t the same.
I feel like season 1 was SO primarily focused on Loki and his character that now, honestly, if Loki wasn’t here, would the major plot of season 2 still work? I feel like it would. I’m still even trying to figure out what the main through like is here and we only have three. Episodes. Left!
I don’t hate it by any means, but I think I’m just trying to kid myself into thinking it’s anything like last season. With season 1, I would watch episodes over and over again until the next week- I couldn’t get enough of them!! And now, it’s pretty much watching each episode twice and feeling ok with that.
I’m not giving up though! I’m not! I still love it.
Y’all, all I keep thinking about the new Thor movie is just wanting the tiniest glimpses or mentions of Loki. That’s all! I have a feeling I’m going to be disappointed…
We just need more of this boyyyy.
