Little late to the party but I participated in an amazing event this weekend called #projectupcycle at @3sartspace in the wonderful town of Portsmouth. 8 designers were selected to use clothing from @goodwillnne and transform them into a gala worthy outfit in a weekend! 🌷 🌷 🌷 I was lucky and got a linen/cotton skirt and a cotton dress and pants. I dyed all the components with different plants and personalized herbal mixtures of motherwort, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and more for @laurahorabora to help with her reproductive health. I then got to speak about the importance of healing through our clothes to a room of 200+ people who are passionate about sustainability which felt soo soo amazing! And I couldn’t be more thankful to @3sartspace @goodwillnne and @recovergirl360 for dreaming up and putting into action this beautiful event that brings so much awareness to the waste created in the fashion world and ways to repurpose it instead of just tossing it in the trash.
