Slănic Salt Mine, Prahova, Romania. June 2023. #my photos

The Slănic Prahova Salt Mine (Mina Unirea) consists of 14 trapezoid-shaped chambers. Each chamber has a width of 32 metres at the base, an opening of 10 metres at the ceiling, and a height of 54 metres. The total surface area covers 78,000 square metres, while the excavated volume amounts to approximately 2.9 million cubic metres of salt. Located 208 metres below ground level, the mine’s extraordinary dimensions have earned it the distinction of being one of the largest salt mines in Europe open to the public.

"Come On, Let's Avenge Arabism", a song sung by young trainees in one of the PFLP camps in the late 1960s.

The clip is from the Japanese Red Army's film The Red Army-PFLP Declaration of World War (1971). This rarely seen piece of media documents the early days of the PFLP movement through newsreel style shots, showing what everyday activities were like for a PFLP guerrilla, so as to make calls for a worldwide revolution. It features exclusive interviews with Leila Khaled, Ghassan Kanafani, and Abu Ali Mustafa.
