Prometric begins registrations for FMGE’15

Good news for those aspiring to practice as a doctor in India as the registrations for the 2015 December Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) have started. The exam is being conducted by Prometric, a leader in online exam provider. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam need to register through Prometric. The exam is going to be conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE), India. FMGE is a qualifying exam for those Indian citizens who have a medical degree equivalent to an MBBS from a foreign university and want to practice as a doctor in India; the exception to this being students with medical degrees from universities in Canada/New Zealand/ Australia/United Kingdom/United States of America. The other mandatory eligibility criterion is that the candidate must have a year of internship at an Indian Hospital related to a medical college. The exam would be a computer based test. It will comprise of 2 papers, each of 150 marks and the minimum qualifying score would be 50% i.e. 150 out of 300. The first paper will be related to Pre & Para Clinical subjects like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pathology etc whereas the second paper will be based on clinical subjects like Pediatrics, General Surgery etc. FMGE allows students to take online practice exam in order to acquaint them with the exam pattern and to provide prior hands on deck experience. Candidates can register for this exam through Prometric which is the official exam partner for FMGE. Prometric prepared to nab cheats in exams with high security measures

Prometric seems to be on its toes in nabbing those who resort to cheating in exams. The cheats are smarter than ever. So, Prometric has turned smarter to obstruct them. Tiny cameras, microphones, pens with cameras and what not. Students are going that extra length to make sure they cheat in the exams. This has got most of the exam conducting agencies and organizations worried. But Prometric have found a way to curb cheating. The idea is simple, beating technology with technology. The methods of cheating have changed. Gone are the days of scribbling and chits. Techno savvy youngsters have been making use of bizarre devices to fool the invigilators and moderators during exams. Candidates have to be ‘wand’ with metal detectors and frisked for cheating material - to be allowed in the testing room. DNB-CET Registrations Open for the July Session

National Board of Education (NBE) has opened gates for registration to the Diplomat of National Board Centralized Entrance Test (DNB-CET), in collaboration with its globally recognized test partner, Prometric. This qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to various post-graduate courses in modern medicine under the NBE is conducted once in every six months.

The registration for the July, 2015 session of the examination is taking place from May 11-June 10, 2015 with the next DNB- CET testing window being from July 1-July-4, 2015. This denotes that the candidates shall have the privilege to select their respective examination center, date and time through the online scheduling system, allowing them to appear only once during the current testing window.

All candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the DNB- CET examination through online application:

· Possessing an MBBS degree/ provisional pass certificate recognized under the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

·Holding a permanent/ provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification allotted by the Medical Council of India.

· Having completed an year of internship/ likely to complete on or before 31st July, 2015.

The rules and regulations are highly stern and do not have tolerance for any kind of loopholes or gaping, whatsoever. All candidates are required to strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines and standards for appearing in the common entrance test. A requisite fee of Rs. 4500 is to be paid online on the website and once the scheduling is complete, candidates shall receive their admit cards well in advance of the D-day. The list of test centres is clearly available on the website and once chosen, any appeal for change of centre will not be accepted.
