That put a foul taste in Harley’s mouth as she frowned , placing the half-eaten slice back in the box regardless of the donation she had already given. Harley narrowed her gaze as she rolled her eyes. Her mood swung to a stop , and sure she was unpredictable , and sure maybe he was having a laugh but Harley didn’t see it that way. She may as well have been a veteran member of the Squad at this point. She didn’t didn’t make a habit of dying like the rest of them.

She wasn’t hungry anymore , and they had a job to do as he so rightly wanted to remind her. ❝ I don’t need a helmet. Sure I may have lost a few brain cells but by the soundsa things , it may ‘ave done me some good ❞

Of course she would give a facial expression of a juvenile character who just got TEASED, the man was observing her like how quickly her MOOD dropped && instantly prepared an argument on his statement of being the most IMPORTANT member of the team. If there had been any comedic audience in the background like those early sitcoms, his statement would have received a shock and her reaction would receive some ‘oh yeah gurl!’ gestures.

Like a yo-yo her expressions were changing with emotions COATED in her words. Valid, but given that it was Floyd Lawton, he could be listening to her at first but then thinking something else. Fortunately enough, he was listening to her.

A cigarette was placed between his lips before sighing, while fishing one hand into his coat pockets for a LIGHTER. Damn, she got mad and that got escalated too much. He would require to control her; what if she pulls out her gun and fires the waiter instead. UNPREDICTABLE, definitely.

“ Do you like Frozen Dessert?” That was some SUDDEN weird question, but an attempt to stay low. “ I am thinking of ordering that. ” His finger pointed at the menu containing a name : Ben & Jerry's Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert. Keeping in mind, it was non-dairy for him. “ What would you like? ”

[ It’s quiet in the void.

Deep in a clocktower, the face begins to glow gently as nighttime takes its hold; though it’s meaningless out here- day and night hardly make a difference to the residents of the void.

A young soul takes a deep breath, leaning down and pulling a backpack out from under his make-shift bed. He’s been staying here for a few months- and a lot has changed with him in the meantime. Taller. His voice has deepened some. Though, other differences... he would be less inclined to share.

Promise exhales, opening the bag- he’s already prepacked it with most he could need for now. Rations. A canteen. A blank, empty book.. he pauses for a moment, looking at the book- then takes it out to rip a page out, and leans over the desk. He picks up a pen and begins to write- scratching out a few notes, but he’s resolved. He doesn’t show any notes of emotion on his face as he folds the note over itself and sets a paperweight on it, leaving it on his desk to be found later. He slides a jacket on- and a hoodie over it, to be safe- the void can be cold, after all. Better safe than sorry. With a huff, he puts one last thing in the bag- the blanket from his bed- and hauls it over his shoulders. He makes his way downstairs- careful not to cause any of the steps to creek under his weight- and out the door of the tower, and takes a step out into the darkness. One of the first of many, hopefully. After a while, he turns back once more to glance at the tower, now in the distance. It probably won't be the last time he sees it, sure... but he can’t help but feel that it will be a long time before he returns here. ]

[ Nix makes breakfast- bacon and eggs, and walks up to Promise’s room, giving a gentle knock on the door. The boy's probably awake by now.. ]

* Promise-? I have breakfast for you-? * ....

[ He waits a few more minutes, before gently knocking again- no answer. A frown forms on his face, and his hand drops to the doors knob, trying to open the door. Of course, it’s locked. He fumbles in his pocket- he has keys to all the rooms in the house, and Promise’s room is no exception. He opens the door... to find the room empty, save for a note on the desk. He sets the plate down on the desk and reads the note. Panic ensues on his face. He immediately turns to rush out of the house, closing the door to the voidspace behind him. He fumbles in his pocket for his phone as he moves. ]

[ It’s been a few days, now. More than a few days, even... it’s hard to keep track of time in a place like the void. With Helios help, he’s.. managed well enough, and the battle he had with the shard left him mostly unfazed- save for the eye. It hasn’t even left a scar. In the meantime, he’s settled down in the small cabin. Helios has invited him to stay as long as he likes, on a couple conditions- keep the room itself clean, and once every so often, head out to the building where the fragment stays- its a small walk from the cabin, on top of a hill- a strange monastery-like building that’s been repurposed into a home for its sole occupant. .. After a while, he decides to take a risk. He’s been bored and misses.. well, talking with people that aren’t Helios, though he makes for nice company, and opens his phone. ]

[ The first thing he notices is a throbbing pain in the upper left side of his skull- and then a chill running down his spine. He takes a deep breath and opens his eyes. It takes a minute for them to adjust to the darkness of the room, and he sits up all too fast for his body to adjust to. He reels forward, the pain intensifying as he brings his hand up to his face, only to find- cloth? No.. it’s a bandage. His head swirls- it hurts too much to think, right now. He leans back slightly, holding the weight of his torso up on his arms, and blearily takes a look around the barren room- he can’t quite see anything aside from the window behind him, and his bag at the base of the bed.

There’s snow outside. How long has he been out? He can’t tell.
