REVELRY PREVIEW 5: Promised Land Sound
Ready to jam to the sweet, sweet sounds of Nashville? Yeah, us too. Promised Land Sound hits up Madison this weekend, and this ain't no Luke Bryan or Brad Paisley we're talking about, these boys sound more like Mick Jagger with a southern twang.
Nashville native band, Promised Land Sound is bringing soulful country-rock to Revelry’s main stage this Saturday. The Tennessean all-male band resurrects sounds known to the 1970s and rock icons legends like Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
Formerly circulating in the rock garage-band music scene, Promised Land Sound and its dynamic multi-genre tunes entered the mainstream just recently in Fall 2013 with an 11-track debut album. Some main picks from their album to look out for on Saturday are “Weed and Wine” and “Empty Vase,” equipped with a youthful and lighthearted sound that encapsulates the warmth and fun of sunny summer days.
Some of their songs pull on folk-lovers heart strings while others appeal to grungy rock and country music fans. Madison is lucky enough to be graced by an energetic Promised Land Sound performance that pleased audiences at SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas, and concerts from their current tour with Angel Olson, another Revelry artist to look forward to this Saturday. Fans gravitate toward Promise Land Sound’s fresh but nostalgic music, which is making waves in the folk, rock and country scenes. Their music will serve as a great compliment to Revelry’s eclectic mix of artists and genres represented in the line-up. Promised Land Sound is set to open the festival hitting the stage at 12:10pm and promises to be a fun show!
