How do you want to be remembered? 

We have all heard the saying, “live every day as if it were your last,” however, not nearly as frequently do we hear people telling us to act in such a way that people would not have anything negative to say if we were to die tomorrow. If I were to perish, I want to be remembered how I live my life to the fullest by discreetly helping others at all times and not selfish nor self-centered. I know that I’m not perfect, but rather an ideal one and there is always something negative that people can say about me if I were to vanish in this world and that is why I always take for granted what others think of me, but I hope people can understand that all my flaws are things I have worked on improving, and every words I spoke or every action I make are presented with utmost integrity. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. You can doubt anything, but the only thing that you cannot doubt; is the fact, that you are doubting. Thus I can proudly say, if I were to expire tomorrow, I will have no regrets because I lived a life true to myself and others, and did everything I can for the benefits of all mankind and not for my own personal gain. I live my life the way I lived because I don’t want to have any regrets at the end of my existence in this world. I want people to know that my greatest accomplishment is being who I am. Everyday is a learning process of accepting to acknowledge and appreciate those individuals who does not want to be there whenever I needed them the most, because of them; I did it myself. I want to ensure that the life that I had borrowed is worth living. I live my life everyday following the wise words of these two personal quotes. These two quotes are: regrets never comes first, it always comes last; and whatever your right hand do, your left hand doesn’t need to know. I live my life trying to make regret not an option by always considering if the things that I’m doing are for the common good of others and everyone. I perform acts of kindness because I wholeheartedly want to lend my hand whenever I can.

His/her humor. They need to make me laugh because I get bored easily.

What is something unique about you that most people don't know? 

I have an identical twin. 

How do you want to be remembered? Why?

I want to be remembered by my family and close friends for caring for them real well. My end goal is to be able to give back to them by showing them how thankful I am for all they have done for me. I often dream about different career paths that I may embark on and find a way to incorporate my thanks to my family and significant other. For example, if i was able to be a chef, I wanted to fly my parents and significant other to my restaurant and spend a night live cooking them their dishes for their night. In addition, if I decided to become a doctor like a typical asian, I would want to check up on my friends and family every once in awhile to check how they are doing physically so that I can help them in whatever way possible. Also, if I was able to become a soccer player, not that its possible, I would join South Korea's national soccer team and I could get my family and friends VIP tickets to all of my games. If anything, through my actions are how I want to be remembered. To me, it means a lot when someone performs an action to show that they care for me rather than verbally telling me something, allowing me to resonate with the saying “actions speak louder than words”. I hope that I can be remembered in this way by giving back as much as I can to my family and my friends in any way I can depending on the career I choose to take.

My nephew, he’s the cutest little baby.

Are you the kind of friend you would want to have as friend? 

Yes, because I’m that type of friend who is always down to spend money on food, but also will listen and care for you when you’re feeling down :)

What goals do you have for Spring Quarter? 

Spring quarter is my last quarter as a third year and I’m determined to make it my best quarter yet. I plan on achieving this goal by focusing on myself and putting energy into things/people that make me happy! My academic goals include staying off of twitter during lectures, possibly using a planner for once in my life, and miraculously somehow finishing this quarter with a 4.0. With that being said, if you see me napping in class, I give you permission to throw something at me. Some financial goals that I have include budgeting how much money I spend on unlimited sushi, clothes, and unnecessary stationery items from Muji. If this doesn’t work out, I might just submerge my credit cards in a container of water and stick it in the freezer (an idea I got from watching Confessions of a Shopaholic). Lastly, my main focus for this quarter is completing the pledging process and becoming an official brother of Alpha Phi Omega! This process has already encouraged me to put myself in uncomfortable situations and grow as an individual. Everyone that I’ve gotten the pleasure to meet so far has shown nothing but kindness to me and I’m beyond excited to continue getting to know more members of APO! My goal is to remain open to new ideas, optimistic, and genuine throughout the rest of my APO journey. Usually the quarter system makes me feel anxious and stressed out, but not this time. When I think about these next ten weeks, I can’t help but feel hopeful and excited for what's to come.

They need to read Shakespeare's Macbeth Act 1. Sc. 3 lines 40-49 because that's my favorite part of the play. Some things they would need to watch are Naruto, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Shane Dawson's conspiracy videos. 

What is something that always makes you smile? 

My dog Tofu!

I don't have one because I don't hit on people nor do I get hit on.

Yeah, I think I'm okay sometimes

What goals do you have for Spring Quarter?

 A goal I have for the Spring Quarter is to start going to the gym again.  I can feel my arms turning into spaghetti noodles and I need to work on my summer bod, even though I have no plans to go anywhere in the summer.  It’s also kind of sad how I’m slightly out of breath walking up a flight of stairs so I want to improve my cardio.  I also want to spend less time laying in my bed this quarter.  I’m already off to a bad start though, because I bought a phone stand so I can watch videos in my bed without needing to hold my phone. *cries in potato* Umm… I guess it would be nice to pass my all my classes with an A, though it’s highly unlikely, or pass away.  Also, I’d like to improve my work ethic so that I’m not behind in my classes and cramming to get work done.  BUUUUT, it’s only the second day of class and apparently I’m already behind by three chapters.  So hopefully, I can catch up and stay caught up.  Please pray for me.  I definitely want to put in more effort to spend time with my friends as well.  They’re all biology majors so I don’t have any classes with them and hardly see them on campus.  I probably only see them once every other week so I want to try to hang out with them at least every week.  I hope that isn’t too clingy.

What goes do you have for Spring Quarter? 

There are many goals I have this upcoming quarter like learning how to dance and sing, playing the violin, and reading more books. However, my main resolutions this year are to do better in school and make friends, because I have non. I’ve been dealing with low motivation, family issues and poor mental health, so I want to break through these setbacks by becoming more involved on campus socially. To make this positive change, I joined APO, the Davis Christian fellowship, and the anime club starting this Spring. I’m not Christian, but I find the community in the Davis Christian fellowship to be very supportive and light hearted, also you don’t have to be Christian to be part of the fellowship. I have a lot of interest in anime and weeb culture as well, so I might have a good shot in the anime club to make memories. The Davis anime convention(Daikon) is something that I am looking forward to and hope to participate in, I will be cosplaying as a shinobi. It’s definitely my goal to attend as many school events as I can like Davis Dance Revolution, picnic day, and D4K so I don’t miss out. Another one of my resolutions is to start learning important material from food science classes for my own self-knowledge and intellectual benefit rather than just fore getting a grade. I usually throw out notes after the quarter ends and use the textbooks solely for whatever information will be tested, but I would really like to internalize my studies instead for personal improvement by uploading them to the cloud. Overall, I hope to become happier; focus on the good in myself and others, and whatever may come this term.

What’s something you’re good at cooking in the kitchen?  

I enjoy making pancakes because breakfast is special to me as each family member of mine is responsible with cooking a certain breakfast dish and then we all share it together as a happy family.

Do you prefer to text or talk?    

I would rather talk because I feel like texting too often can lead to social disconnections when we actually talk in-person.

What’s something you like about yourself?  

That I will always put my family and close friends first over other priorities.

What role does service play in the context of your life and the context of a community?

Service in the context of my life and in the context of my community is doing something for the sole benefit of others rather than for personal gain. For instance, two years ago, I was able to be take part in an NGO in rural Northern India where we assisted to alleviate the disparaging gap between people without basic healthcare necessities and people from higher social classes. From shadowing physicians in local emergency departments in the slums of India, I was able to see the large socioeconomic disparity that existed in these communities. I was able to witness first-hand just how much poverty was linked to diseases such as Malaria and respiratory infections like Pneumonia. In the context of service in a community, these experiences have pushed me to want to help bridge the gap between those in need and basic healthcare that is accessible to all. Coming back to the states, I have been using what I have learned to help as best as I can at the UC Davis Medical Center. I try to learn as much as I can from physicians and supervisors in the emergency department so that hopefully one day I am able to assist others that are not as fortunate. Service to others is very important to me and I hope that Alpha Phi Omega can be the outlet for me to express my concerns for others. I believe that working together with the brothers of Alpha Phi Omega in a collective manner can be mutually beneficial for the fraternity and for the local community.

What’s something you like about yourself?

Honestly, I think my music taste is pretty rad. I truly do have a hard time describing it to people because I listen to artists across (and in between) a lot of genres. It's nice having a relatively diverse taste in music because I get to relate to a lot of people! Talking music with others helps me learn a lot about them. It's led me to so many amazing experiences, like volunteering at a zoo, going vegan, and doing research as an undergrad. It's one of my main sources of intrinsic motivation, strength and inspiration. What role does service play in the context of your life and the context of a community?

Service has been a part of my life for quite a while now! I was an officer for two service organizations back in high school and separately volunteered at the Humane Society and the zoo. Through those, I made so many friends, many of whom are still my best friends today. And I made countless memories, from volunteering at a Pet Expo to a Holi celebration at Stanford to charity dinners. I took a break from doing service my first year of college because I wanted to focus on academics and my internship, but I did feel a bit of a void in my life not going out to service events anymore. Joining Alpha Phi Omega was the most promising solution, and it has provided a very natural transition from high school to college in terms of doing service. I already feel more integrated into the Davis community. Despite its close proximity to campus, I had no idea about the Hillel House before doing service with APhiO, but I now know about their work serving the Jewish community, which is super cool! I'm excited to see even more of Davis and talk to the people in this lovely town. Overall, service is a great way to become familiar with your community. The type of service events that are available in an area is very indicative of what the area is generally like. In Davis you get things like plant sales and campus events. Back home in Milpitas, I would go to events in downtown San Jose a lot, and these included things like marathons and clean ups. Whether you're doing service in a college town or a big city, you can get a sense of what the locals and the surroundings are like. It's also a fun way to get to know people, whether it be the ones you're volunteering with or the people the service is helping out. Service is how you show your love for your community and the people in it!
