cis people putting putting up their pronouns is so comforting for me. Like, oh your ok with pronouns, oh god thank you
For the pronoun anon, if they have someone(s) who would be willing to help them try out pronouns, that might work. I told a couple friends I wanted to try out some pronouns to see how they felt, kind of like a test drive. They were completely willing to use the pronouns while I figured out if I liked them or not, no judgement. (Turns out I didn't, and they just asked what other pronouns I wanted to try out instead.)
thank you for sharing!!
possible alternate name/pronouns email template to professors
My name is [preferred name], and I will be attending your [course name] course this [semester]. I identify as nonbinary and have not legally changed my name. On your roster is my legal name, [legal first and last name]. Please refer to me as [preferred name] and use [pronouns] pronouns when referring to me. Thank you for understanding, and I look forward to starting your course this week. Sincerely, [preferred name] (combined another template with a friend and I's ideas so it is less apologetic and more concise; not trying to steal other's work, just spread help and good vibes for the coming school year)
