Just thinking
So, this is different from what I usually post but I just had a thought. My English Professor believes The Hunger Games franchise is stupid because who in their right mind would agree to sending children to fight to the death? But the more I thought about it, the more I realize that WE as a society do this. It may not be as insane as The Hunger Games trilogy might be, but we do send kids to fight in war. We deploy kids that are freshly 18 to fight for our country and a lot - if not most- die in war, so isn't that the same concept? The Hunger Games also isn't just about sending kids from each district to fight to the death as a remembrance for the dark ages, but also a reflection on propaganda in our country today as well as the government. Just had to put that that thought out there because I don't believe my English Professor was truly thinking about what he said.
