The public's health and the environment depend on proper waste disposal such as Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and proper segregation - since doing so keeps the environment cleaner and reduces pollution. We want to teach people how to have a clean environment and proper waste disposal also lowers the likelihood of soil and ground water pollution.

WASTE MANAGEMENT (in relation to COVID-19 pandemic)

    When COVID-19 happened there are several hospitals here in Cebu City investigated by the DOH because of their wastes did not disposed properly and some of their wastes seen in the coastal areas.  

   Hospital wastes contains potentially harmful microorganisms that can infect hospital patients, health workers and to the public.  Injections with contaminated needles and syringes in low- and middle-income countries have reduced substantially in recent years, partly due to efforts to reduce reuse of injection devices. Despite this progress, in 2010, unsafe injections were still responsible for as many as 33 800 new HIV infections, 1.7 million hepatitis B infections and 315 000 hepatitis C infections. 

   If landfills are not properly built, the disposal of untreated health care wastes will lead to pollution of drinking, surface, and ground waters. Lack of awareness about the health hazards related to health-care waste, inadequate training in proper waste management, absence of waste management and disposal systems, insufficient financial and human resources and the low priority given to the topic are the most common problems connected with health-care waste. Many countries either do not have appropriate regulations, or do not enforce them. 

Promoting activities that reduce the amount of waste generated and promote waste disposal.

Creating policies and processes, as well as strict supervision and control, to gradually enhance waste segregation, destruction, and recycling practices in order to meet national and international standards.

World Series # 1 - Garbage Disposal

Hello Everyone! As we all know garbage has been a problem in our environment. It gave a big impact in our evironment which is also the major causes of Environmental Detoriation. Many animals died especially in the ocean living creatures due to the consumption of garbage that are in the ocean especially plastic. It does not only damage the living creatures but it can also damage and harm coral reefs God's creation. Because of what and how garbage affects our environment today, we made this project where in we are going to practice proper waste disposal. We want to encourage everyone not only those people who are living in the country but also people from around the world so that each one of us can unite, help and save God's Creation. We encourage everyone to participate in our project. Just take a minute to stop by in our blog and read and share ways for proper waste disposal.

Ito ay isang halimbawang lugar sa Barangay Talisay na dapat pang bigyan ng tuon sa proper waste disposal. Marami ang mga kalat na makikita partikular na sa mga plastics at disposable items—ito pa ay sa tabi ng free-flowing water. Ang halimbawang ito ay kaugnay sa pangangailangan ng mga kanto sa Barangay Talisay upang mabawasan at maiwasan ang kapahamakan pagdating ng bagyo sapagkat mas lalong madaling bahain ang lugar kung walang maayos na pamamaraan ng pagtapon ng basura.
