                        There's bile rising in the back of his throat, but he held it back in favor of sending a shaky smile back toward the ghost of a girl he was starting to actually like.

                  He still didn't believe she was real sometimes.

                        His hands still shook with the tremors of the eternally nervous when he saw her. When he heard her voice, like she was actually alive and kicking. Like she never died in the first place.

      "--You were wrong, when you decided to leave with Boyd."

                                    He believed that, with every fiber in his being.

            "It was still your choice to make, though."
