Summary “My sister gave them to me”, he explained, scratching the back of his head. “They are supposed to help with the cravings”
I was under the impression that I was your inappropriate nicotine replacement therapy, Mel thought at him, affronted.
What came out of her mouth was much better. “They taste like dirt”
She was going to throw all of them out the second they got to his place.
or
Several things happened at once. Mateo barely squeaked past the gurney; the three-year-old in Central 2 suddenly stopped crying; Myrna killed the music. Trinity, who was holding her one loose strand of hair away from her face and patting her back awkwardly, was looking more and more alarmed by the second. Mel dry-heaved again. Because this was her life, of course Trinity chose that exact moment to exclaim, with all the subtlety of a deranged bullhorn: “You are not pregnant, are you?”
This time she retched for real, vomiting all over the front of Whitaker’s scrubs.
or
Frank needs to quit smoking. Mel is a helpful friend.
Notes During the ten long months Frank Langdon spends away from the Pitt, Mel King gets progressively more lonely. Luckily, they are rejoined at the hip from the minute he returns.
Except now his god-awful crush on his innocent co-worker has cranked up his anxiety so badly he takes up smoking again. Mel is pumped to finally have someone in her corner (again!) and would like to keep him as healthy as possible for the longest time she is able. Thus, she agrees to help him quit by all means necessary.
(There's not a lot of miscommunication because I dislike that trope. But there is very minimal honest communication, which is the main problem between them. In the meantime, they are going to get weirdly co-dependet to concerning levels and interwine their lives irreparably. Also, everyone will find out. Yay)

Summary
"when i allow space for my
anger,
when i greet the pain
of what is true
when i am afraid and return to the game anyway,
i save my own life." (R.B. Graham, "Make Room.")
Robby's adult life, told through the rooms he occupies (and the rooms he can't enter)
Notes This story begins in New Orleans with Robby's residency (a studio apartment), with memories of his medical school days (roommates; a rickety, falling-down house). We follow him to Pittsburgh (home; a flat with few things in it that we see start to be populated with keepsakes and old photos and good quality second-hand finds as he puts down roots), and the ED (trauma rooms; hallways). Through this runs his relationship with Jack, who's been his friend and (friendly) rival since med school, and we see Jack's room in Landstuhl after he loses part of his leg via video call, and eventually Jack's bedroom when Robby finally realizes he loves him, needs him, and wants him. Robby's arc is one of wrestling with loneliness and choosing to embrace the people who love him; Jack's is one of service, anger, grief, and recovery. He falls for Robby before Robby admits he's fallen for Jack. Happy ending, season one canon-compliant.

Summary Four years ago, Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, reluctantly stepped up to lead the Family after the death of their previous boss. Well-liked, Robby leads the family with skill, fairness, and a small dose of humor. Thus far, they’ve been able to maintain control of their territory (affectionately known as “The Pitt”) but resources are growing increasingly thin. External forces (a rival Family growing in power; law enforcement circling) as well as internal forces (a Captain with a secret, growing drug addiction; discontent soldiers considering a different life) threaten the Family’s survival.
Notes Hints of classic Mafia/organized crime depictions (think The Godfather, The Sopranos) with a lean toward newer depictions (think Tulsa King, Law & Order: Organized Crime). There’s violence when necessary, but it isn’t a central fixture. Lots of late nights/all-nighters — an excess of coffee, cigarettes, sunrises seen without a break for sleep; lots of rooftop discussions between Robby and Jack. Growing tension between Frank and Trinity. The unquestioning loyalty of the older members and the questioning loyalty of the newer members.

Summary A long time ago in a hospital far, far away: in other words, this is a Pitt/Star Wars fusion. Robby is a doctor who has to flee the imperial city-world of Coruscant and the crumbling hospital that’s been as much a home to him as anywhere else has ever been, together with Imperial Navy deserter Jack. (Handsome with an edge, i.e. wears a leather jacket and a thigh holster and wears them well). We follow them first to the jungle world of Yavin 4, where Robby has to learn to lead a motley crew of fellow medics-turned-Resistance fighters in an ancient temple that’s been retrofitted as a medical clinic; comes to rely on the fighting skills of X-wing pilots like Mel and Trinity to keep them safe—and where he also grows closer to Jack. In the tumult following the Battle of Yavin, Jack and Robby’s growing bond is put to the test as they have to work together on a mission to infiltrate an imperial supply base on a mountainous maritime world—while also facing betrayal within their ranks.
Notes In terms of Star Wars timeline, this will begin roughly concurrent with some of the events of Andor and will reference some places discussed there, but only indirectly. It will be more directly aligned with events of A New Hope/Empire Strikes Back.

Summary John decides to make a change and moves for the first time in five years. Coincidentally, this makes Robby his new next door neighbor. On the journey from cordial small talk in their shared hallway to intimate conversations late at night, they fall in love.
Notes At the start they stand farther apart, everything feeling a little more artificial. Nodding with polite distance when they enter their apartments, unnatural white lighting in the hallway, imposing closed doors. Then, as they grow closer, everything warms up and the settings become more intimate while these two extremely buttoned-up people learn how to be close to each other. Standing side by side while they linger in the entryways of their apartments, warm light shining softly from their homes as they try to find an excuse to keep talking. Estimated Word Count At least 35,000, most likely less than 50,000
Summary Based on the Michael Mann film Heat (1995), with some changes. The setting is Los Angeles, 1995. Jack Abbot is the roguish, efficient criminal portrayed in the film by Robert De Niro, and Robby is the highly competent, married-to-his-job LAPD detective portrayed in the film by Al Pacino.
Abbot is a seasoned criminal who has served jailtime and has, at this point in his career — if you can call it that — a loyal-enough crew with whom he collects scores (John Shen, Frank Langdon, Crus Henderson). The piece opens with Abbot and his crew robbing $1.6 million worth of bearer bonds from an armored vehicle. Short-handed on crew members, they bring on this job a new guy, David “Slick” Saunders, a loose cannon who impulsively kills one of the guards of the armored vehicle, which means the crew has to kill the rest of the guards as witnesses. Other than this, the robbery is a success and the crew escapes. Afterward, Abbot makes to kill David for his fuck-up, but David manages to escape.
Robby and his team of detectives (Dennis Whitaker, Donnie Donahue, Jesse Van Horn) arrive on the scene after the crew’s escape and examine the details. It is immediately clear they are dealing with someone who has an immense talent, intelligence, and forethought for the crimes they commit.
What follows is a braiding narrative in which Abbot and Robby circle each other with increasing frequency, proximity, and respect for each other’s smarts in their respective professions.
A story about duty versus desire, intimacy and distance, the magnetism of the chase, the looming oppression of fate, and the lonely desperation that underpins it all. Following high-stakes heists, ambushes, counter-strikes, surveillances, deceptions, and attempted escapes.
Notes Robby has a strained relationship with his current wife (his third marriage), Heather Collins, exacerbated by his intense inability to let go of the baggage his job brings him, and he struggles to connect with his teenage stepdaughter Nadia, a very anxious young girl whose father is not present enough in her life.
Abbot is a lone wolf, content with his own solitude until he meets Samira Mohan, a senior resident in an emergency department. The two bond over a commonality: their loneliness amidst the thrumming modernity that threatens to move on without them.
About halfway through, Abbot and Robby will finally meet face-to-face for the first time. (This is probably the most famous scene in Heat — https://youtu.be/LUy2Wx_r0_w .) At a diner table, sitting across from each other, surrounded by normalcy, the two men come to realize they have a common ground. Both are deeply devoted to their jobs, to the point where their personal lives are made barren — but they don’t know how to do anything else other than do their job well. They respect each other’s discipline and precision, and now that they’ve spoken face-to-face, they both admit that when the time comes where either of them might have to kill the other, it will be with regret, but without hesitation.
In the film, the De Niro character’s love interest Eady is a graphic designer and their romantic relationship is primarily background, developing over 3 scenes or so. The end sees De Niro remaining true to the doctrine that he has stated throughout the film, “Do not let yourself get attached to anything you can’t walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner,” and he abandons his love interest on the brink of their joint escape from LA, away from the only kind of life he has ever known. Whether he leaves to protect her from becoming further entrenched into his life and lifestyle — one he is still not sure he can completely abandon — or because he truly had prevented himself from becoming too attached to her, is ambiguous in the film. The finale is a one-on-one chase that sees De Niro dying by Pacino’s hand.
In “swarm” I’d like to differ from these particular aspects by expanding on each of the core relationships, with Jack/Samira as the central pairing. Samira will have a much more expansive role than her counterpart in the film, and the ending will see her and Jack escaping, alive, but I’d still like to leave on the more ambiguous side the philosophical question of whether someone like Jack is able to let go of the only kind of life he’s ever known and find fulfillment elsewhere.
To give an idea of visuals and other senses, this piece will be saturated in an intense mood soaked in cinematic blues and the orangey sodium lights of 90s LA. These people move at night. They don’t let the dust settle because they don’t want to face what their lives look like without the grit. There are sparks of drills on metal, the smell of dirty money, the taste of blood in one’s mouth, the weight of a body, the echoing ricochet of bullets flying during a shootout in a plaza surrounded by skyscrapers. The seemingly endless expanse of emptiness surrounding you. Every line of communication is tapped, so assume every conversation is being listened to. Do not let anyone know your next move. Better yet, don’t let anyone get too close to you. Try to shake the itch of being swarmed.

Summary (not the ao3 summary) Dennis loses his housing a week before his internal medicine rotation, goes to his favorite sex club to sulk about it. Robby has a means to help and an interest in Dennis after a one night stand leaves him wanting.
Notes Dennis is a stealth trans man in this that is Highly insecure about his body and presents in the beginning as a “touch me not” top, the major internal conflict presented in this fic is the building of trust and action both physically and emotionally between these two. Some dom/sub undertones where Robby is the sub. Major beats include; first time meeting in the sex club Dennis remains fully clothed and gives Robby the blowjob of a lifetime, contract negotiation at a Fancy Establishment (Dennis doesn’t have the right clothes, feels self conscious, Robby gives Dennis his suit jacket--delicious smelling AND oversized), the Robby Foot Job scene back at Robby’s apartment where again--Dennis is a service top that comes with dinner haha, Dennis’ finally letting Robby in (both physically and emotionally) when his IM rotation is over and they “celebrate” -- scene where Dennis rides Robby on the same armchair the foot job occurs in. The argument where they break up (act 3 breakups…the classic) when Dennis is assigned his ER rotation and it’s discovered that Dennis being a med student at the Pitt was going to cause a problem. The reunion at the sex club where it’s discovered that Robby’s come back every day off they share to try and stop Dennis from moving on. Summary Robby has lost more than he realizes, and refuses to acknowledge the half of it. It takes the meddling of his family, his Family, and the prospect of a new relationship for him to begin to unpack all that. Dennis has never been so prideful as to reject charity, but can't let his guard down enough to consider what he actually wants.
Following Dennis and Robby and the people around them through establishing context, and the immediate three months following the events of canon.
Notes themes of death and rebirth, finding common ground at different life stages, trust in family, responsibility as self harm, letting go. the prose is purple and the dialogue is heavy
Housekeeping: Discussions of less than ethical past relationships and dubious consent, but none of the characters consider their own experiences nonconsensual. There are a lot of background characters, but that is a side effect of taking place in a city where many people live, and they are mostly limited to the acts in which they appear.

Summary Jack Abbot is the second son of a baronet and Michael Robinavitch is the first and only son of immigrant tradesmen who is too smart for his own good. Alongside Dana—a gentleman's daughter—they grow up together in the same village, and despite their differences in social standing, they become friends. As the years go by, however, life splits them apart: Jack goes into the army; Robby manages to study medicine and become a doctor, but doesn't exactly manage to do away with the suspicion his background engenders; and Dana marries and has children. When Jack's older brother unexpectedly dies, however, he's suddenly a Baronet in need of a spouse and, at the same time, Robby is in more danger than ever because the Regent keeps inflating suspicions against anyone who is foreign born. For Dana, these two problems have one easy solution: Jack and Robby need to marry.
Notes The Regency universe in this story is more along the lines of Bridgerton than historically accurate, but we ARE definitely in a dandy and cravat universe — the setting is more Austen than the proper ton, though, so it's charming villages, etc and not Mayfair.

It’s a bad idea to bring Jack back into his home, but Robby’s never been known to listen to his instincts.

There's certainly more than just curse-breaking, but this is a fic about Robby and his curse-breaking abilities -- how they work, how they impact his day to day life, etc. This involves him taking on bits and pieces of the various curses he breaks, and the more severe the curse is the worse it is for him. It's also, eventually, about Jack noticing those changes and getting suspicious. Excited to put them in some situations!

Summary Michael Robinavitch, classically trained and newly commissioned physican, joins the crew of the USS Pittsburgh at the height of tension between the United States and it's enemies. The Pittsburgh is tasked with patrolling the mid-Atlantic, protecting its key ports, and has been given leeway to neutralize any enemy threats: sink them, burn them, or take 'em as a prize.
Except, Robinavitch isn't the only physician on board. Jack Abbot, surgeon, has been serving the Pittsburgh since he was taken in a prisoner exchange three years ago. Newly demoted Abbot has the trust of the crew and the naval experience Robinavitch craves. The men and the crew must weather a fleet-wide pandemic and concussive cat-and-mouse entanglements with enemy ships. Why?
Oceans are now battlefields.
Notes This is a turn of the 18th century/Napoleonic war sailing AU, which incorporates both British and American naval historical vocabulary. It also leans heavily on references from the Horatio Hornblower and Master and Commander book series'. Summary In the mid-19th century, Dr. Jack Abbot is at his breaking point. After one too many losses, he decides to get away from the city and take time at a cabin in the mountains to recuperate in nature and get his head back on straight. The isolated cottage is less than relaxing, though; Jack starts having strange experiences that he initially writes off— before he realizes this place is haunted. When he does manage to finally interact with the ghost, he learns he, too, used to be a doctor— and died in the cabin some time ago, his restless spirit remaining behind. Jack promises to help him move on, only to find himself falling in love with him in the process. They get comfortable together, not wanting what they create to end, even though Robby's life has already ended long ago. Jack decides to stay and Robby realizes this is his unfinished business as he learns to love Jack, their world, and himself again. Because Jack is here with him, he stays put, the two of them making a life together until Jack dies of old age and joins Robby in the cabin in their shared forever afterlife.
Notes Ghost!Robby, Victorian Doctor!Jack! Going for a Victorian haunted house horror vibe, Gothic romance sort of situation. Horror and spookiness during the haunting, and then a transition into their own peculiar kind of domesticity as they fall in love. Jack out in nature trying to cleanse himself, Robby as the most haunted spirit there ever was, ghostly making out and smut, emotional and heavy conversations, probably some men crying. A ghost story and a love story.

Summary On the day of the PittFest shooting, Jack feels terrible until he goes back to the PTMC. He thinks that it's because of his guilt over losing the vet overnight, and that the only reason he feels better once he gets there is that he's an adrenaline junkie addicted to high pressure situations. But when Robby walks away from the park after the shift, the buzzing restlessness comes back. That's right, it's a soul bond! One which Jack thinks only he can feel, and so it's his to deal with alone. If Robby can ignore it and go on with his life (or, even worse, if it's a bond that's been rejected before it even really started), Jack will manage. Of course, that plan would be slightly less stupid if Robby had any understanding of what he was feeling. Luckily, they simply can't stay away from each other, and when the bond is finally consummated, it all clicks into place.
Notes Hey what if the reason these two dudes are so in sync is actually something else entirely??? What would that make the sex like? What if they had sex BEFORE they realized what was going on? Lots of exciting questions I look forward to discovering the answers to while writing this story :)

Summary It wasn't the worst day of Robby's life...but it was sure making an effort. A shift filled with kid after kid he couldn't save. A return to his beloved condo to find it flooded from the unit above, unlivable for at least three months. All he'd wanted was a damned cigarette - he deserved this - only on the way to the corner store, he'd heard a pained whimper from a shadowy alley. Venturing in, Robby spotted someone on the ground. Before he could help, something swung at his head and he was out. He came back to no wallet, no phone, the paramedics bringing him in with the other patient. They lost the pulse en route, so of course Robby hopped up on the gurney to do chest compressions...and was still at it when they landed in the Pitt, where he met the shocked gaze of Jack. Jack, who hustled Robby behind a curtain, who held him as his body shook, murmuring about "combat stress reactions, it's fine, you're fine." Jack, who took care of everything - sending Robby for repeat CTs, then sending him to his own condo, where of course Robby could stay for as long as the repairs took. Because "anything for you, brother."
There was just one tiny catch. Jack had a gun in his condo - nothing elaborate, an unremarkable, legal .9mm pistol - and he wanted to train Robby on how to use it. Just to be safe. And he was rather fucking insistent about it, a current of real worry underlying everything. So even though Robby didn't like guns, had never used a gun, would never use a gun...he agreed. A process that turned out to be highly fuckin' suggestive when you were nursing a hopeless crush on your best friend. Even as Robby wondered...why was Jack so very worried?
Notes Featuring all the gun safety you can handle, Jack being terminally competent, Robby SO conflicted about how hot he finds Jack in soldier mode, and the two of them finally buying a clue. And then fucking about it. As one does.

Additional Tags Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Falling in Love, Getting Together, Med Student!Jack
Estimated Word Count 20-25k
Summary Jack knows he isn’t a typical med student. Down a leg and nearly twice the age of his newfound peers, he more than comfortably qualifies as nontraditional. He might have enlisted at 18, but despite what everyone now thinks, he didn’t lose his leg in combat. He didn’t lose his leg on the job at all, but it’s an assumption he’s not too keen on correcting, because the trite sympathy is better than the pity he gets when he tells the truth.
He’s wrapping up his last year of med school, preparing for the nightmare that is the matching process, when he crash-lands into the guest lecture of one Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, attending at PTMC. Neither of them expect everything that comes next.
Notes Jack is in his mid-forties. A tragic accident took his leg, his career, and his wife right when he was settling into the waning years of his enlistment. He was in long enough to qualify for retirement after being medically discharged, but his pension and partial disability only go so far. He also still has half his life to live and is in desperate need of something to do, so after recovering from the accident, he dusts off his GI Bill and goes back to school. Eventually he decides to go for his MD, and the fic opens right as he’s starting interviews for residency.
Robby just turned fifty, and his most recent relationship just crashed and burned in a spectacular fashion, so getting into a new one—let alone one with a student—is the last thing on his mind. But Jack isn’t a traditional student, and he isn’t Robby’s student, either. He’s also very, very insistent on going after what he wants, and for reasons Robby can’t begin to understand, he’s decided Robby is what he wants. Cue a game of cat and mouse, the evolution of casually hooking up to meeting for drinks in dim-lit bars after long shifts, shop talk turning personal as they stumble into something neither of them were all that prepared for. Late night study sessions, bleary morning-afters. Banter, shenanigans, and maybe finding meaning in all the madness along the way.

Summary Fresh out of rehab, Frank not only has to learn how to deal with an ex-mentor who hates his guts but also the lycanthropy he’s been medically suppressing since he was bitten decades ago. Luckily for him, he works at the only Level 1 trauma center in Pittsburgh with a dedicated preternatural department. Unluckily for him, so does that ex-mentor—as well as all of his friends, who have only ever known him as human.
Notes The vibes for the supernatural elements in this are TEEN WOLF meets BUFFY. Our OT3 are all werewolves (Frank and Jack bitten, Robby born) and our various other Pittlings are an array of supernatural creatures/humans. It’s very much a “coming-of-age” story for Frank, who gets to unlearn a whole host of ingrained anti-supernatural biases (he’s a bitten werewolf in a family of hunters—yikes!). But, not to fear; he ends the story in a VERY happily mated triad with two hot older werewolves. Be prepared for SO much touch starvation, pining, angst, and cuddle puddles. Also, Frank & Samira BFF arc! Tl;dr—the author saw how puppy-coded Frank was and ran with it.

Summary While recovering from a mutual but aching breakup, Robby takes a one-year professorship at a university out of state. Though he meets many impressive students, none of them get on his nerves quite like academic fraternity hotshot Frank Langdon. He's brilliant, cocky, and Robby wants to fail him just to wipe the pretty smirk off of his face. But as circumstances outside of their control force them closer and closer together, their crackling sexual tension threatens to engulf them in a wildfire that has the potential to ruin their lives for good.
Notes This will be a high-heat erotic romance with a large number of sex scenes. Explicit art is not expected and certainly not required, but the author would also enjoy them if the mood strikes the artist :) Some possible scenes are Robby and Langdon verbally sparring in class; a sexually tense private office hours discussion; a winter break blackout forcing Langdon to stay with Robby; Robby testing Langdon's sexual limits and then gently, tenderly caring for him in the aftermath; Robby pulling back so sharply after their first sexual encounter that Langdon sleeps with someone else to make Robby intensely jealous. Kinks/Explicit scenes may include light pet play, public car sex, office sex, edging, Langdon's first time involving penetration with another man, spanking, and roleplaying a dubcon scene involving Langdon asking for "extra credit." General vibes are the coziness of fall and the warmth to be found in winter, community vs. isolation, cooking meals together, the thrill of meeting someone who challenges you, the desperation of wanting to be someone's favorite, changing your perception of someone the longer you're near them, enjoying someone to the fullest while deliberately ignoring the ending in sight, and the pain of saying goodbye to a person who changed your life. There will be a PTMC-era epilogue with a "Will They/Won't They" undertone—it might be nice to see art juxtaposing that against the first moment they saw each other years before.

Summary Robby needs something to live for. When the Jane Doe infant gets dropped off at PTMC's Safe Haven box, it feels like a sign. Someone to live for. It only takes a week back from paternity leave, however, to realize that balancing an infant and being an attending physician is a tall order for anyone - even him. When Dr. Langdon arrives at The Pitt to begin his trial return to medicine, he still needs to gain Robby's trust, but he can at least make himself useful.
Notes Basically, Langdon moves into Robby's house to help him raise the safe haven baby he's fostering. Robby is well-meaning but a little functionally useless, and for all that Frank can be clueless to Abby's needs, he really is a natural with kids. This fic is going to be a whole heap of domestic goodness and emotional repression until things come to a head when Abby decides to give Langdon another shot and he moves back home. Estimated Word Count ~40k
Summary Contrary to what fairy tales or romances might have one believe, psionic bonds weren't magic, nor typically instantaneous. Encouraging bonds between people was still an inexact science; based on a combination of the pairs' own psychic read ability, their interpersonal dynamic, and the level of compatibility between the two. People might go years before a bond forms, depending, and even forced bonds weren't always successful. But usually, they meant something good for both parties.
So the fact that Robby's thumb had brushed across the skin of Langdon's wrist as he shoved his clothes into his hand, rage and upset and smothering-hot sadness filling the space between them like humid mist, shouldn't have meant anything. They'd touched hundreds of times before, casual brushes in the trauma bays or in patient care rooms. But in that moment, like the released tension of a rubber band, something snapped into place between them at perhaps the worst possible moment.
As it were: an inexact science.
Notes This exists as a canon-divergent AU, where the population at large has a sixth sense that is a mental 'read-ability'/psionic/psychic sense. This isn't quite mind-reading, but serves as a social tool that might be akin to reading expressions and body language in a low-level reader, and a lot more like reading very accurately between the lines of most social interactions for a high-level reader. Subsequently, there are psychic bonds that can occur. Usually, this is a romantic bond between partners, but because of the benefits some bonds can provide, it's seen in athletics between some paired athletes (figure skaters, or pitchers/catchers, etc) or other professional applications, particularly the military.
This will start almost exactly where Season 1 leaves off. Frank and Robby, after years of friendship and a solid mentor/mentee relationship, have an accidental bond that forms during the heightened emotions of that last shift. Normally, these could be broken. But they both ignore it and the burgeoning awareness of the other person, and by the time Robby is really willing to think about it, its cemented itself in a much more permanent way than a brand new, still fragile bond. Good thing they are great at talking to each other! /s
This fic is going to cover the time in between when Langdon is discovered, and when he comes back. A lot of conflict, forced proximity, sense of betrayal (for both parties) and the struggle that comes with having so much resentment and anger for someone who's got a front row seat to the emotions in your head and a shared history that by and large they both enjoyed.
Major beats will include Langdon post-rehab, after he and Abby are separated and Robby can feel just how hard the process is for him. Will also include Robby going through the reporting process, and the added issues of the bond for them both professionally and personally. Likely going to have a solid amount of explicit content, sprinkled throughout. I like writing fics that tend to focus in on one character's emotional dynamic, with the lens of the relationship as a way to focus on it. This is a very sci-fi/fanfic trope, but I aim to keep it feeling as grounded as possible.

Summary Michael Robinavitch has spent most of his adult life being exceedingly sure of many things. The medicine he practices. The friendship's that he's built. The responsibility of his power as an educator. What he's unsure of? Why he can't seem to keep his hands off his new MS4.
Luckily, he's got four days of well-deserved time off coming his way. Four days of fishing, reading, getting caught up on a handful of cabin projects he's neglected for far too long — plenty of time to ignore the sinking feeling in his gut that he's actually sure of far, far less than he's prepared to reckon with.
Four days that blow up in his face when Jack Abbot shows up on his step, med student in very confused tow.
Notes This story is all about what happens when Robby goes to the woods to have a four-day bisexual awakening, complete with several small breakdowns, lots of scenes of him being all woodsy and outdoor, and the appearance of both Jack Abbot and Dennis Whitaker to force him to come to terms with exactly who — and what — he wants. Several scenes of working through Robby's fears and sexual frustrations in a D/s dynamic with Jack, including bondage, outdoor sex, naked frolicking in the woods, as well as scenes of Jack 'training' Dennis on what Robby needs and wants, including blindfolded sex, elaborate dirty talk, and a lot of like. Blushing, sweating, and otherwise exerting themselves (both sexually and functionally)

Summary Mel King is the perfect hockey player, humble and respected by everyone in the league. Trinity Santos plays with an edge, pushing boundaries to be one of the best players.
They've been rivals their whole careers, competing hard and putting it all on the line. Unbeknownst to everyone, they've been fucking the whole time too.
Notes Currently obsessed with Heated Rivalry so want to write my own yuri version but hopefully with a bit more hockey. They will be playing for PWHL teams because I don't want to create new teams but all players will be fictional. Will be entirely from Mel's POV and will explore her relationship with her sexuality as much as her relationship with Trinity.

Relationship(s) Trinity Santos & Jack Abbot, Trinity Santos/Samira Mohan
Character(s) Trinity Santos, Jack Abbot, Samira Mohan, Dennis Whitaker
Additional Tags Werewolf AU and the body horror and violence that implies (fairly light on both of those though, tbh), Santos Whump, mentions of the suicide and CSA in Trinity's backstory, minor Jack/Robby
Estimated Word Count 30K
Summary A long time ago, a monster hunted Trinity through the woods of her childhood home. Patient as any predator, he waited, and the moment Trinity was left forgotten and unprotected he sunk his claws into her tender flesh. After an agonizing struggle, Trinity wrenched herself free and escaped into the night (alone, alone, alone). The experience, however, left her irrevocably changed; something inside her had twisted, feral and strange, and now she growls and snaps and bares her gleaming teeth at every hint of a threat, hunting and killing for her food.
Also and unrelated, Trinity got bit by a werewolf last week.
Notes Featuring: Platonic ER Werewolves (née Cowboys) Jack & Trinity mentor/mentee relationship, romantic Monster Girl + People’s Princess Trinity/Samira relationship, Jack nearly ripping a door off its hinges, Trinity attempting to break up with her human almost-girlfriend Samira to keep her safe (and Samira stubbornly refusing), uncontrolled partial shifting at the Pitt, the classic human hand on monstrous jaw “You’re not going to hurt me. I know you’d never hurt me” trope, Trinity vomiting out the black ichor of her backstory, Jack and Trinity with matching kitschy wolf t-shirts under their scrubs, and an utterly bewildered Dennis.

Notes This is not going to be a one-to-one PacRim AU (bc characterization comes first and bc I don’t want to kill off a bunch of side characters), but the spirit will be there as well as some major story beats. While the bigJaeger v. bigMonster violence will be there, I am more interested in the drift segments. Drift compatibility will be explored in a lot of detail: ephemeral, yearning, deep connection. Character(s) Cassie McKay, Donnie Donahue, Mel King
Additional Tags grief, loss of loved ones, books as flirting, slow burn, widowed Jack Abbot, Jack Abbot is down bad for Samira Mohan but she has some work to do before she realizes that, getting together
Estimated Word Count 35k
Summary There was a beauty in keeping a professional life and a personal life separate. But that only worked if you had a personal life to speak of.
Samira Mohan, M.D. did not. And she didn’t appreciate the insinuation that she should.
So she concocted a plan. Get a hobby that requires the least socialization and provides the most discussion fodder to annoy her coworkers. Something she could discuss for ages to prove she had a life — thank you very much.
Samira joined a book club. She didn’t anticipate the hobby would change her. Didn’t anticipate it bringing people into her life. And certainly didn’t expect people would actually care.
So when she quit, in a spectacular fashion, mind you, she figured no one would notice.
Jack Abbot did. But Jack Abbot noticed many things about Samira Mohan. This story investigated the relationship between Samira Mohan and Jack Abbot over several years, from witnessing each other as they lost important people to the growing friendship and their eventual romantic entanglement.
Notes The books that theme each of the chapters (and key points in each one) are as follows:
Crying in H-Mart by Michelle Zauner
Jack Abbot and Samira Mohan were both present in the aftermath of losing important people (Samira’s mother and Jack’s wife).
Jack Abbot notices Samira Mohan quit after reading this book, and silently offers to start a new one with her (via tea and a book on her station)
The Beauty in Breaking by Michelle Harper
First book Samira suggests for their book club, learns about Jack’s favorite patients (first time they speak on the phone for hours)
Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green
Jack helps Samira go through the storage facility filled with her childhood home's stuff, listening to the book.
Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey
First hate-read together; hiking to finish it. Samira tells Jack she is staying at PTMC.
Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers
Samira has a breakdown after harsh reviews/rejection from a journal. Jack takes care of her, and she thinks about how nice it is to have a person in her life who truly cares for her again.
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
Samira realizes they are reading more romance plots and calls Jack out on it. They finally admit their feelings.
The Maidens by Alex Michaelides
First time people actually realize they are together (the fight over the book's ending bleeds into the ER). Really, they are fighting about how Jack always seems to know what will happen, and Samira has a hard time accepting that.

Notes Basically a time loop/time travel fic where recent scientific developments give Samira the opportunity to go back in time to save Jack’s wife. Jack’s wife, Julia, died of a rare, uncurable disease and Samira is uniquely positioned to time travel between present day and the day of Julia’s death to try and save her via a process of running several trials in the past and then tracking the effects in the future with Jack’s help. Samira and Jack get closer in the process but it gets increasingly complicated over time.

Additional Tags Angst, Yearning, Frank’s POV, references to drug addiction & rehab, Frank whump, found family, hurt/comfort, getting together, bed sharing – even when there is MORE than one bed!, something silly re Frank being divorced, the indignity of being seen and understood and loved anyway, holiday…stuff? ((look man, the main outline forgot it was the holidays so like we're going to learn what that will entail as we write!))
Estimated Word Count btn 20-35,000 ???
Summary Roughly four months into Frank’s second go at his fourth year of residency a disastrous encounter with a violent patient nets him two broken arms and a giant heap of despair that his life is never really going to work out. He can’t take care of himself, much less work (can one repeat year four a third time if he is out too long?), and with his parents overseas and a divorce that was mostly amicable (and finalized just a month prior) but certainly not friendly enough he can ask Abby to take care of him for weeks on end (also two kids aged 5 and under and two broken arms does not a good mix make) he has no idea where to turn.
Also, it’s the freaking holiday season. Enter Mel King – and several other PTMC colleagues and friends – who step up and offer assistance, camaraderie, and also love.*
*Frank really wasn't expecting the love. Or the *love* for that matter.
Notes Very heavily Kingdon, but, the more I work on this the more the secondary characters are coming forth a little more than I had anticipated. I have a hard time figuring who to tag in a completed work (much less one in progress) so take anyone left out and indeed perhaps some included with a grain of salt when it comes to secondaries. Mel does the initial heavy lifting with care (and her budding romance with Frank does take center stage) but the others cycle in and out to help take care of Frank physically and mentally – and in the case of Abbot also looking out for his career.
Sometimes it feels like this fic wants to be a little more lighthearted and sometimes it feels like it wants to be heavy. It’s not a character study, but, it is kind of a post ‘the work done at rehab to rebuild himself’ rebuilding of Frank Langdon when he’s hit with a giant pile of crap and inconvenience. Mostly rebuilding relationships that he thought he lost or didn’t know he had and building new ones as well. Some random thoughts on things that will happen:
- Yes they are doctors, but it’s still just a tiny bit awkward when your crush (that you maybe didn't realize was your crush until like five minutes ago) sees you naked even during the process of helping you take care of yourself.
- Mel helps turn his apartment into a home.
- Sharing a bed is just efficient – what if Frank needs help in the middle of the night?
- Offering food is a Santos love language but like don’t read too much into it.
- How many people can have an ‘and what are your feelings for Mel’/’tell her your feelings’ type talk with Frank in one fic?

So when he finds out the quickest way to snap him out of them is by talking to Mel, well, you can’t blame him for calling her on her day off. It’s either that or relapse, right?
Or
Frank calls Mel because he’s close to having a relapse and she spends the night spooning him… then just sort of, doesn’t stop coming over.
(The fic where Frank doesn’t know he’s dating Mel while she is the patron saint of waiting for your boyfriend to take the relationship to the next level)

Trying to figure out what his relationships are like with these familiar/unfamiliar people is harder than he thought, and ends up revealing more about himself than, quite frankly, he ever wanted to know. Summary Langdon's soulmate marks come and go, leading him from Abby to Robby and eventually to Mel, who never expected to have a soulmate and has to learn how.
Notes I really put frank through it in this: his injury, a withdrawal seizure, an ear infection, and finally blacking out and whacking his head--all between finding out that he has a soul mate after all in Abby, and then a second one in Robby, then none at all, and finally Mel. Mel's part focuses on her finding out that she has a soul mate (which she thought she didn't) and that it's frank; she doesn't know how to fall in love with someone, and she tries to figure that out (and ends up having it happen along the way.)
I'd love to see frank and mel being gentle with each other as they figure out this new side of their relationship. there's a lot of intimacy in the first few scenes of them at his place around the time they learn about their soulmate situation--they were the first scenes I wrote, so i'm particularly fond of them. lastly, the teen rating is for language/substance use/show-appropriate medical situations, plus a fade to black hookup between Langdon and Robby

Jack and Robby assemble the perfect team to infiltrate the MET’s annual fundraiser gala, dodge the skeletons in their closets, and, allegedly, leave their lives of crime behind them.
Notes This is primarily focused on Mohabbot and Rollins, but it’s very much an ensemble affair. Like a good heist movie, everyone gets their chance in the spotlight. We’ve got all the clichés! They will need to have a pre-heist stake out, a meeting with the entire team where they say ‘No! I told you I’m not getting mixed up in this again”, before agreeing to join the cause. They pour over floor plans and schematics before infiltrating an event where they’re all in sexy formal attire.
